Scimitar Name: Scimitar

Built with special tracking support arrays, the Scimitar was designed in large part to assist heavy combat vessels in tracking fast-moving targets. Relatively nimble for a support cruiser, it can often be found ducking between battleships, protecting its own back while lending the behemoths the support they need to take out their enemies.

Developer: Core Complexion Inc.

Core Complexions ships are unusual in that they favor electronics and defense over the "Lots of guns" approach traditionally favored by the Minmatar. Being a support cruiser, the Scimitar therefore fits ideally into their design scheme.

The tracking link bonus formula is as follows:

1 + (tracking link base * (1 + 0.1 * logistics lvl))

for example with logistics 5 and t2 tracking link fitted with tracking script (30% bonus).

1 + (0.3 * (1 + 0.1 * 5)) = 1.45

or 45% bonus


The tracking links will suffer from stacking penalties with other tracking modules (remote or on the ship itself). However the tracking links outperform other tracking modules and the largest bonuses will be calculated first, rather than the tracking links doing no bonus due to stacking it's more of a case of the ships tracking computers/enhancers now do nothing.


Trivia

the bonus was not always calculated this way, it used to use the following formula but was changed when all logistics recieved a boost.

(1 + tracking link base) * (1 + 0.075 * logistics lvl)
