New Caldari: As befitting an ambitious culture, it was no accident that New Caldari was chosen as the representative-home for the Caldari people in the aftermath of the war and resulting loss of Caldari Prime. Chafing under the economic regulation of the Federation Senate and a lack of societal self-determination, the prominent Caldari corporations commissioned a task group for the specific purpose of finding a base of operations suitable for housing the business needs of the Caldari people, seen as synonymous with the needs of the major Caldari corporations.

New Caldari (Selection): The primary goals of the Task Group were to find a system possessing: • Abundant Mineral Wealth. • Vast unclaimed real-estate. • Simple Gasses, for fuel and energy production. • Away from the prying eyes of the Gallente administration. Featuring mineral rich asteroid belts, a small temperate star, numerous large moons, habitable mostly-terraformed planets, gas-giants for fuel production, a distance that would be difficult for the Gallente government to interfere with – the system that would be New Caldari was selected as an extended base of operations. New Caldari (Founding): For decades the construction of corporate mining facilities, fuel production sites, and refineries went unchecked, rapidly extracting the resources needed for infrastructure investment, and producing returns for the sponsor corporations. The total output of the Caldari state increased by fully 25% with the implementation of new industry based in New Caldari, at the time an unofficial name. Even before the Gallente-Caldari war, the system was coming to be known as New Caldari. The increase in output combined with the boom in new space-based technology allowed the corporations to found other remote locations for their own ends, no other endeavor has been responsible for as much expansion of the state.

The War & New Caldari By 23155, the primacy of Caldari industry, technology, and territory – partially as a result of the success of New Caldari - spawned groups of affluent-backed subversives that ran contra to the Gallente culture and the Federation as a whole. Succession from the Federation was just a matter of time, and after a military buildup, the tragedy of Nouvelle Rouvenor, and the resulting Fderation backlash, Caldari Prime suffered orbital bombardment and invasion. The natural choice of the ‘Big Eight’ for the future location of the Caldari State was the unofficially known New Caldari, to be officially known from that point forward as the seat and Capital. The existing infrastructure was expanded, and the characteristic super-stations of the Caldari corporations were reconfigured to handle the masses of material and humanity streaming in from Caldari Prime in the Luminaire system. New Caldari (Modern Day): Today no system of New Eden can boast similar industrial output comparable to New Caldari. The once abundant asteroid belts are nearly gone, and the planets and moons have been exhaustively exploited for natural resources. The ship-yards and heavy industries of New Caldari continue to produce volumes of material and finished products that rival any other for quality, technology, and low-cost. The close proximity to the vast markets of Jita is no coincidence as it provides a perfect location to peddle the wares of the Caldari industrial machine.

New Caldari (Industry): While quite compared to other capital systems, the deep-delving and exhausted mines now serve as huge self-contained factory cities. It is here that the mega-corporations, so named after the multi-million employees of each corporation, produce high end alloys, machines of every configuration, and the simple foods favored by the average Caldari citizen.

New Caldari (Cities): While not as flashy as the cities of the Gallente, or as eclectic as the Minmitar, or Cathedral-like as is the case of the Amarrian, the cities of the Caldari are none the less impressive. The foundations of their buildings run deep in to the crust, connecting with their factories, and reach high in to the sky beyond the limits of breathable air. On the exterior, their buildings are more or less uniform, and what they lack in external variety they make up for in size, capacity, and physical grandeur. The majority of the people of the State are born, live, work and die in the factory-cities. Supervisors, managers, and executives rise from the ranks and are afforded the opportunity to live in park-like suburbs that surround the city cores like verdant skirts. Those very few at the top, have the opportunity to live on lavish estates, or in expansive suites on the stations they manage.

New Caldari (Tube-Children): The one obstacle that the Caldari people have not been able to overcome with technology, or force of will, is their low birth rates. Compared to the other races of New Eden, the Caldari have the fewest number of children per household. Long work days, pollution, and the conservative nature of the average Citizen of the State are not conducive to the creation or success of large families. The remedy to this problem is the State operated academies and schools that produce their own students, while handling the educational needs of the average citizen. For a fee, a loyal family can submit genetic material and have the state raise a child in their name; this is the origin of the so-called tube-children found throughout the social ranks of Caldari society. With the successful implementation of the tube-children, the total birthrate of the State had exceeded 20% for the last 3 decades. In this way the State has control of its progeny, labor force, and armies. Some say that this is the reason that the majority of Capsuleer pilots claim a Caldari heritage.
