While not a damage upgrade over the Raven, and doing somewhat less DPS than the Navy Raven when going by the raw damage output numbers, the Golem is a much more versatile mission ship. The Golem shows its full potential, when it is fitted with T2 siege launchers. Since the Golem has only to fit four of those very demanding modules, the fitting requirements are less stiff than on its T1 counterparts. T2 torpedoes are necessary to kill battleships and other rats that stay away more than 25 to 30 km. Because of its target painter and explosion velocity bonuses a significantly lower amount of its torpedo damage output is lost compared to the Raven or Navy Raven, so although those ships may put out more total DPS in comparison to the Golem the portion of the damage that the Golem can actually hit ships with puts its effective damage output above that of the Raven or Navy Raven, making it a true king of PvE.

An improved tank, large cargo hold and tractor beam add to its utility.

Player versus Environment

For now, this ship is probably one of the "Kings of PVE," usurping the former title holder, the Navy Raven, though Nightmare and Paladin are hard competitors versus Sansha and Blood Raiders.

Always bring T2 javelin torpedos for the extra range. The large shield booster is enough, since the Golem does tremendous damage and gets rid of most battleships with very few salvos.
