The Neocom Panel

The Neocom panel is located on the left side of interface, under your character portrait, and gives you access to several tools. You can minimize the Neocom panel by pressing the two arrows to right of your character picture in the upper left corner.

The Ship Control Panel

From the Ship Control Panel you activate installed weapons, mining lasers, and modules; you can also open the scanner, cargohold and drone bay from here. Last, but not least, you can initiate the autopilot.

The Overview Scanner

The Overview scanner is a complete item overview and operation panel for all items around you, including your enemies, gang members, and your drones.

The Station Services

While your ship is in a station, you will have access to multiple services; access these by clicking on any of the buttons appearing on the right side. The services offered differ from station to station: some provide all available services, while others provide only a few.

The Station Entities

In addition to station services, you also have access to entities that "live" or reside in that station. This includes players that are currently docked in station, agents, corporation offices and headquarters. You access these entities by pressing any of the tabs that appear under the station services buttons on the right side.

Esc Settings Menu

By hitting ESC at any time, you bring up the Settings Menu. Here you can tweak various settings for EVE.

There are seven settings tabs, each handling different aspects of the game.

Display & Graphics Graphics

Under the graphics tab, you can set your resolution,display adapter, color depth. You can also flip between window mode and full screen and select various advanced graphical settings. You can also specify which effects should be shown.

Audio & Chat

You can enable your Audio through the audio tab and tweak the different volumes of the game such as music level, UI sound, voice and the overall volume. Here you will also set up your EVE voice settings. Chat-settings can also be found here

General Settings

This tab handles most basic settings of EVE. Various gameplay and user interface settings are placed here. It is divided into 6 sections: General, Windows, Help, Station, Inflight and Layout.

Shortcuts

You can set up various different shortcuts for every day usage. The tab is divided into two parts. On the left side there are shortcuts already mapped to their functions, and on the right there are unmapped functions. To Map an unused function, click on it on the right and click on the left facing arrows in between the two sections. You can also right click on the function and select Map Shortcut.
You will be given a window where you set your shortcuts. You can use any combination of Shift, Alt and Ctrl keys, plus an extra key of your choice.
There are also some locked shortcuts that are not changeable. Those are marked with a lock in the left side window.
To edit a pre-existing shortcut, you can right click it and select Edit Shortcut.

Reset Settings

Various commands will give you a confirmation dialog which you have to accept. By clicking Do Not Ask Me Again, you will have your selection preserved. You can reset these dialogs by clicking on the Reset button behind each command listed in the tab.

Language

Here you can change the language of the user interface. There are various languages available, including German, Chinese, Japanese and Russian. More languages are being added and the list will grow with time.
