The Naglfar is based on a Matari design believed to date back to the earliest annals of antiquity. While the exact evolution of memes informing its figure is unclear, the same distinctive vertical monolith form has shown up time and time again in the wind-scattered remnants of Matari legend.
Boasting impressive versatility in firepower options, the Naglfar is capable of holding its own against opponents of all sizes and shapes. While its defenses don't go to extremes as herculean as those of its counterparts, the uniformity of resilience - coupled with the sheer amount of devastation it can dish out - make this beast an invaluable addition to any fleet or army.

While many might argue that the Naglfar is vastly inferior when compared to other dreadnoughts, because of malformed slot layout, and split weapon systems it also the only vertically designed dread
The Naglfar has 5 high slots unlike any other dread. This allows it to fit 2 Citadel Torpedo Launcher I and 2 Quad 3500mm Siege Artillery I in addition to the Siege Module I
One of the downsides of this design is that the increased number of high slots comes at the expense of the med/low slots of which the Naglfar has one less total then other Dreadnoughts.
This gives the Naglfar roughly identical raw damage to the other dreadnoughts if no damage increasing modifications are taken into account. However the split mechanisms of firing means it falls behind in raw damage numbers as soon as damage modifications are involved due to each of those only affecting half of the fitted weapon system while on all other dreadnoughts each fitted damage modification affects every equipped weapon system.
Meaning
Naglfar, in Norse mythology, is described as a ship made entirely from the fingernails and toenails of the dead. During Ragnarok it will sail to the battlefield and lead the hordes against the gods.
