Exploit Notifications on the EVE Online Website


The following links lead to announcements posted by members of the Customer Support Service on issues, which were discussed and subsequently declared as exploits (in chronological order):


Neutral Pilots to remote repair starbases

Using Neutral Pilots to remote repair starbases during a war situation - Reported: 2007.06.20

Official Announcement on exploit: Neutrals remote repairing starbases at war

Using remote armor repairers, remote hull repairers or remote shield transfer modules on a starbase belonging to a corporation that is at active war is now considered an exploit, if the pilots involved are not members of the corporation owning the starbase or members of a corporation in the same alliance. Anyone utilizing this exploit to their advantage will face action from the GM team according to the rules laid out under the End Users License Agreement.


Scamming with Loan Contracts

Loan Contract scams are not allowed! - Reported: 2007.07.19 16:12:48

Announcement on exploit: Loan Contract scams have been declared as exploits

We will take action against those that take advantage of faulty game mechanics that are in place for the Loan Contracts to scam other players out of their hard earned ISK. Action may include warnings and possibly bans.


Overview bug declared an exploit

Overview bug classed as exploit! - Reported: 2008.03.26 17:16:09

Official Announcement on exploit: Container thieves using an Overview bug to incriminate theft victims

Using a bug in the overview to "can bait" and kill others by boarding ships in space is now classified as an exploit and action will be taken against those found doing it from here on.


Cynosural Field activation inside forcefields

Cynosural field inside starbase forcefield is an exploit! - Reported: 2008.04.02 16:10:21

Announcement on exploit: Invulnerability when activating Cynosural Fields inside Starbase Forcefield

There have been some cases where players have been able to place a cynosural field inside their Starbase forcefield and thus gaining certain advantages for themselves and their cyno-jumping allies. It should not be possible to deploy a cyno-field inside a Starbase forcefield, this is therefore classed as an exploit and we will take action against anyone found using it.


Ship class restrictions circumvented in FW

Circumvention of ship class restrictions for Factional Warfare Complexes is an exploit! - Reported: 2008.07.03 15:14:10

Announcement on exploit: Avoiding ship class/size restrictions for Factional Warfare complexes

Flying bigger class ships than allowed by the jump gates to Factional Warfare complexes has been classed as an exploit. If you are found doing this we will be forced to take in-game actions as abusing game mechanics is not allowed.


Neutral-tanking NPC's in Factional Warfare

Using neutral characters to tank faction NPC's during FW combat is an exploit! - Reported: 2008.07.17 16:31:28

Announcement on exploit: Using neutral characters for NPC tanking, while engaged in Factional Warfare fights, to avoid NPC attacks on their FW characters

Using neutral characters to tank Faction Navy NPCs to stop them from attacking players involved in Factional Warfare with that faction is considered an exploit. Action will be taken against users found engaging in this activity.


Insta-Joining Corporations to surprise wartargets

Insta- Joining and Leaving corporations to surprise war targets is an exploit! - Reported: 2008.08.26 15:38:53

Announcement on exploit: Accepting applicants located in space, to surprise war targets in their vicinity is considered an exploit

The practice of insta-joining/leaving warring corporations for the purpose of surprising war targets, or getting them in trouble with CONCORD, is considered an exploit from here on. Reports of this will be investigated on a case by case basis and warnings will be issued at the discretion of the GM. Repeated incidents may result in bans on accounts involved.


Warning: Players found in violation of our general policies on exploits, and the above rules as set forth in public announcements by members of the Customer Support Service*, will be penalized as befits the crime. Please, note also, that as per EULA policies you risk punishment for exploit use also: If you use any tactics, which you know or suspect to be an exploit, use the tactic repeatedly for whatever purpose or reason, and fail to report this to members of the Customer Support Service or other members of staff at CCP.
