EVE Events Accuracy: Accurate
This page was approved This article describes events in EVE, how to find them and important things to keep in mind, if you decide to take part in an event. How do I find an event?
Who can I fire on without getting in trouble with Concord? You can never fire on someone if their in-game chat text is white. If it's some other colour than white, you may be able to fire on them, in which case you should ask them and they'll tell you in a roleplayed answer. Be careful; losses incurred in events are for the most part not reimbursed, and the event actors are experienced pilots, usually packing considerable firepower. Participating in a combat event may allow you to obtain rare or expensive loot, but it can also cost you your ship. If I lose my ship during the normal course of an event, will I get reimbursed?Sadly, no. However, you will not lose a ship to an Mercury Actor or Producer for just being in their way. You will only be ‘brought into the event’ if you choose to participate, which you can do either by saying so in local or by targeting one of the ships or deciding to ignore the warnings given by the actors. So if you see people talking in local with coloured text, sounding like pirates, just carry on with your own business and you won’t be attacked. What do all those different text colours mean? How come the people with coloured writing never answer my questions?Usually this is when an Actor or Producer is doing an event; they are by rule not allowed to break character. This basically means they can only answer questions which relate to the event or character they are currently playing. Here is an example the Event team often sees: Hail the Emperor! Why won’t they answer any questions about their equipment/ship setups?Simply so that they'll have a fair chance in combat. If their ship setups were known in advance then the event actors would hardly be able to put up a decent challenge. They create their own setups and take pride in not always picking the ‘elite gear’. Why doesn’t the actor or Producer tell me his player name or where he lives? To protect our volunteers against abuse and exploitation, no ISD are allowed to give out this sort of information. Can regular players get involved in the creation/suggestion of events without becoming a member of the ISD?Yes, they most certainly can! We cannot guarantee that your event will be accepted, but we have had many player-suggested events in the past and will continue to do so. Email us at story@eve-aurora.com and we'll review your event proposal. Is there a site with information on past events and also a calendar for future events? There's no in-depth list, but you can review some past events at Events and at Video Interviews, Documentaries and Films. Can I join Mercury or any other ISD division?Yes, though you must be 18 or over to apply. You will find the application form here Top Contributors For This Page |
