Early life

Born in Eram, Catherine Delorois is the daughter of Federation diplomat Philippe Delorois and artist Gabrielle Comtesse. As her father was posted to new diplomatic assignments and the Delorois family moved across the cluster, Catherine was raised in Eram, Pator, Tash-Murkon and Amarr; her nickname "Quintrala" is said to come from her schooldays in Matari worlds. During her time in the Amarr Empire she attended Alliance Gallentoise schools at Federation diplomatic grounds, where she excelled at literature, drama, cycling, swimming, diving, skiing and chess.

Graduating from school at age 17, Quintrala moved to Luminaire to live by herself. After a year of independent life, she was admitted to the University of Caille Business School in 104.

While an undergraduate at UC Bourynes campus she became engaged to a fellow student, who would become her sole partner under Auvergne law for a two-year renewable contract. Graduating in 108, the couple settled in Clermont, Auvergne, where she would pursue a Master's degree at the neighboring UC Odotte campus while he developed the St. Croix family wine estate.

Life in Space

Quintrala enrolled in capsuleer training at UC, obtaining her license in 108. As a newly graduated trader-capsuleer she landed a job with Aliastra in Tash-Murkon, while remaining a graduate student with UC in Sinq Laison. The resulting commute prompted her to request assistance from the UC Astronautics department in fitting ever faster frigates, to reduce travel time. This was the beginning of her passion for speed.

It is thought that her partner's reluctance to go into space, the long time spent apart, as well as rumors surrounding Catherine and racing personalities have stressed their relationship. By late 110, there are no records of the couple's union being renewed after the 2-year period, although they remain cordial and are often seen together when in Auvergne.

Catherine obtained her graduate degree from the UC Gallente Business Entrepeneur Elite programme in April 111. For the first time in over 2 years as capsuleer, she joined a private corporation.

Racing Career

By mid-109 and out of a dare, Quintrala joined the ISGC Racing League late in Season 2, competing in only a few races and finishing in place 11 overall.

Catherine and fellow students Lief Siddhe, non-pilots Gina Ducasse and Braxton Gantt entered a UC racing team for Season 3. The informal venture proved an unexpected success, with the UC racer A Wing and A Prayer -designed by Ducasse, built by Gantt and his friends, and piloted by Delorois- capturing the frigates championship undefeated.

At Siddhe's suggestion, the team decided to go professional. Backed by the UC Business School, UC Astronautics/Laboratoire Astronautique Gallentoise and sizable sponsorships by Khanid Innovation and the Quafe Company, they recruited new blood and former rivals and, with Quintrala as Captain, entered the interceptors division as Scuderia Caille (SC). After a painful adaptation, she went on to achieve 3rd place overall. Unbeknownst to the rest of the league, by the end of the season she had struck a secret cooperation deal with one of her major rivals, twice-champion Kayleigh Jamieson-Read and the Dragonstar Racing Team (DS).

Starting early 110, Season 5 saw fierce competition and, under Captains Kay and Quin, both racing teams achieved very close integration, cooperating in secret for the duration. Jamieson would get the 2nd place overall and Delorois, 4th place. Nevertheless, they had set the stage for future seasons, developing new tactics, fittings, and eventually announcing the merger into the new Scuderia Dragonstar (SDS) team with Jamieson as Captain and Delorois in charge of PR. Quintrala is credited with cheering both teams onwards after the race 10 bloodbath (ISD: ISGC Racing League Season V round-up), and managing the replacement of a high-grade Snake implant set to an aggravated rival team.

Season 6 saw major changes to ISGC with the departure of Gyra Rho and subsequent implosion of the League organization. Quintrala joined fellow racer KillJoy Tseng in maintaining the League alive under the new ISRC banner, becoming League spokeswoman. To date, she refuses to quit racing and intentionally avoids League work that would prevent her from racing.

Building on the Dragonstar racing experience and the Caille flair and creativity, the SDS team went on for a categorical win in the interceptors (1st, 2nd and 3rd places) and frigates division (1st place). Catherine Delorois achieved her longtime ambition of becoming interceptors champion.
