Early History

Black Shamrock Pharmaceuticals (ticker: BSPH) was formed on 13 JAN, 110 as APEX-Pharmaceuticals (ticker: APEXP), a profit sharing venture of APEX-Unlimited (ticker: APEX-), the executor corporation of the APEX-Conglomerate (ticker: APEX) alliance. 50% of the corporation’s shares were offered to employees of APEX- as part of an initial public offering. APEX-, the parent corporation, purchased 25% of the available shares. Takara Rourke was appointed CEO and those pilots interested in taking a direct role in the corporation were invited to transfer from APEX- to APEXP. Any member of the alliance, wishing to assist, could provide support as their schedule allowed and would be paid for their services.

Before the first month of operations had been completed, a change in APEX-‘s political situation made it impossible for APEXP to remain part of the alliance. APEXP enlisted the assistance of Cordelia Sender, a well-trained business executive looking for a new opportunity, to determine the best course of action to maintain operations. On 15 FEB, 110 a new corporation was registered by Ms. Sender with the CBT and Black Shamrock Pharmaceuticals commenced operations.

All of the employees of APEXP were employed by the new corporation. As part of the transfer, new employees were given the opportunity to purchase stock in the company. The newly raised capital was used to refund all monies invested by the investors in APEXP. As a single payment cycle had not occurred, all monies were returned at 100% of investment with no profit sharing payments. BSPH, unlike APEXP, is a privately held company with all shares held by either employees or the corporation.

Continuing Operations

Since its inception, BSPH has expanded operations and now has a large civilian pharmaceutical manufacturing operation located at Dunraelare VIII - Moon 14 - Kaalakiota Corporation Factory. In addition to many successful antibiotics and non-prescription products, BSPH is beginning to market “CH2OH Go”. A commercial product that allows the consumer to prepare for and immediately remove any effects of alcohol consumption. The product is in testing within The State, The Federation and The Republic. Amarrian officials have refused to allow this product within the empire, stating a religious opposition to the consumption of alcohol.

BSPH also has expanded their product line for capsuleer use. BSPH reports that they manufacture and have in stock seven of the eight most common Combat Boosters of the Synth strength. The Synth booster is a standard adhered to throughout New Eden and manufacturers must meet strict production regulations in order to label their product as Synth. BSPH has also been rumored to be creating stronger versions of combat boosters, however, given the legality of non-Synth boosters within the space controlled by the four major powers, BSPH has never confirmed, or denied, this rumor. DED has stated their suspicions that various members of BSPH are indeed involved in the smuggling of illegal combat boosters, however, there has never been any evidence provided to prove such an accusation.

On 17 July, 110, Takara Rourke assumed CEO duties from Cordelia Sender. This was done strictly for business reasons. The corporation retains full confidence in Ms. Sender’s business acumen. As such, she assumes the temporary position of Chief Operating Officer. BSPH is negotiating various business deals with other capsuleer based organizations and it was determined that Ms. Sender’s lack for advanced pod training could be construed a hindrance to those negotiations. Once all deals are agreed to, and in place, Ms. Sender is expected to resume her duties as CEO of BSPH and Ms. Rourke will return to her duties as Director of Sales and Marketing.

Shifted Business Model

On 1 March, 111, Black Shamrock announced that they had entered into an agreement to provide free antibiotics and other civilian pharmaceutical supplies to the Sisters of Eve in support of their humanitarian efforts throughout New Eden. The first significant test of this arragement was the incident at Seyllin. Black Shamrock provided three Charon class freighter shipments of medicine to the Sisters of Eve. While never confirmed by Black Shamrock management, it is assumed that the cost of providing the Sisters their supplies for free is off-set by profits from the sale of combat boosters to casuleers.

Reportable Public Results

As a privately held company, BSPH is not required to report any of its data to the public. In May, 111, BSPH is expected to provide an annual update to shareholders on the status of the corporation's holdings.
