Early Life & Education

Ethan was born on January 4th, 83YC in the city of Terran Chauffé, on Duripant IV. His birth in the District 11 Medical Tower came seven minutes prior to that of his twin sister Akora making him the oldest of three children. Along with his sister and younger brother Luke, he was raised in the typical manner of a wealthy Gallente family, attending private schools and academies until the death of both his parents the day after his 10th birthday.

He was subsequently taken into the care of his grandparents along with his brother and sister. Within two years he was absconded to a Federal care center operated under funding from Poteque Pharmaceuticals after becoming somewhat of a juvenile delinquent. To this day his treatment while with Poteque remains a closely guarded personal secret.

In 98YC, at the age of fifteen, Ethan was enlisted into Federal service as an undergraduate Cadet. He excelled as a marksman and showed great aptitude and charisma as a leader and tactician. His planetside training was cut short in 100YC, when he was drafted from the Army to the Federation Navy at 18 years of age.

For the next five years Ethan undertook the gruelling training regime to become a capsuleer, serving on various tours of duty both planetside and in space with the Federation Navy, the anti narcotics division of Federation Customs the GFPD's Rapid Strike Task Force, and most notably the Border Zone Defense Matrix, also known as 'Tripwire'.

During this time he earned a number of commendations and decorations, and was injured three times in the line of duty, eventually reaching the rank of Major.

Court Martial & Exile

On April 13, 106YC Verone was arrested by Federal Military Police on charges of unauthorised access to Federal Intelligence Office records, gross misconduct and assault on a Federation Navy non-commissioned officer. He was subsequently Court Martialed, stripped of rank, dishonourably discharged from the Federation Navy and sentenced to 10 years detainment in a Federal Correctional Institute, suspended for one year due to his prior record of service.

Speculation surrounds the reasoning for his breach of Federal Intelligence Office security, with most agreeing that due to the nature of the data accessed he was seeking further information into the death of his parents, both FIO employees.

Disappearance

Ethan made an unpredicted move on May 17, 106YC only a couple of hours after the conclusion of his court martial. FIO records show that close to midday, he subdued the guard manning the security checkpoint at his squad's service hangar using non lethal force and proceeded to steal his former service frigate of five years, a Federation Navy Comet class frigate with the callsign serial 'RSTF-3784'. Rumour has it that he still holds onto the same frigate to this day as part of his personal fleet.

The last known and confirmed images of Ethan Verone alive that are retained by the Federal Intelligence Office and taken in by monitoring equipment on the Kassigainen stargate in Algogille as 'RSTF-3784' jumped across into the Caldari Border Zone.

In retaliation for this move, his Federal Citizenship (Formerly #D-03071984/FNA395) was revoked.

Ethan vanished almost completely for seven months, barely registering at all in any public databases before resurfacing in December 106 in the employment of notorious pirate corporation Sniggerdly. It was during this time that Ethan became addicted to Exile, and became narcotic dependant for a little over ten months.

Sniggerdly

The reinvigoration of Ethan's career as a combat pilot is, as said often in his own words, what put him in the “fortunate position” he considers himself to be in today. Most who know him say that he directly links Sniggerdly with the advancement of his career and his own rise to notoriety as their Public Relations and Recruitment Director in 106 & 107, as well as a prominent black market arms and munitions dealer in Lonetrek.

After months of evading the scouring of the Federation for his whereabouts, he voluntarily re-surfaced directly under the nose of the FIO, flying the colours of Sniggerdly after several attacks on mining, trade and private security vessels in the Gallente controlled systems of Obalyu and Parts.

For almost a year he served as a combat pilot with Sniggerdly, with recorded combat operations across the cluster, including a sustained war against Amarr loyalist corporation PIE Inc. in Domain, on the border of Providence. In addition to this he served in a several month long campaign in Pure Blind, Fade and Deklein against the sovereign capsuleer alliances. It was at this point that Ethan managed to finally force both himself and his younger brother away from Exile.

Re-apprehension & Escape

After almost a year of service under the banner of Sniggerdly, the death of his younger brother Luke on October 17 107 made Ethan take the risky manoeuvre of returning to Duripant IV for his funeral. He was immediately apprehended after the service by the Directive Enforcement Department and transferred to Yulai.

Eight days later, though a chain of events that some claim were sparked with inside assistance from the DED or Federation Navy, he apparently escaped and immediately vanished across Molden Heath and into the Great Wildlands.

Veto Corp

A little over a month after he fled for the Wildlands, Verone surfaced a second time after founding a small anti CONCORD Assembly corporation by the name of Veto.

The corporation was created from the ground up to flaunt and bend the rules that CONCORD impose. Within a year the corporation had over twenty wars under its belt, a string of successful small scale mercenary contracts, and a combat roster closing on thirty pilots.

The defining moment for Ethan and his small corporation was the Kassigainen Incident on the evening of November 7 108, and ironically took place in the system of Kassigainen. Roughly a dozen pilots flying Veto Corp colours and lead by Ethan himself savagely attacked and destroyed a fully armed Federation Navy convoy that breached the Caldari border despite repeated instruction from the Home Guard to stand down.

The convoy was en-route to Truiisu Station, a mining colony on Kassigainen IV owned by the Kaalakiota Corporation. In the ensuing engagement Veto forces suffered significant losses to CONCORD, but completely destroyed the convoy including a pair of Megathron class battleships, an Obelisk class freighter loaded with Federal Marines, and a significant number of support ships.

For several weeks after this, speculation arose surrounding Ethan's political alignment and that of his corporation. He refused to release the details of the incident other than the corporation had been paid to deal with the convoy, and had been substantially compensated for the losses they incurred in the ensuing fight with CONCORD forces. Some branded Veto Corp “State sponsored terrorists”, others accusing them of collaboration with the Guristas.

Talk of Ethan's collaboration with the Guristas grew further when he became personally involved with known Gurista loyalist Naphtalia and her corporation The Black Rabbits, after several successful independent mercenary contracts against a number of major nullsec alliances and a strike against a Serpentis scouting party in Aubenall. It was at this point that the corporation as a whole began producing and trading black market arms and munitions under Ethan's guidance.

Within a further three more months Ethan founded the alliance Veto Corp, begrudgingly recognised by CONCORD, and immediately added a second corporation, Veto Academy to the ranks, which had been formed not long after the Kassigainen Incident. Four months later the corporation's alignment became public when news of his marriage to Naphtalia crept into the public domain, and Veto Corp was declared to be Gurista loyal.

While Ethan maintains complete political independence from the Guristas, Veto Corp operates in direct conjunction with the criminal mega corporation whenever requested, or on their behalf. More recently the organisation has expanded, using typically Gurista business practices and structuring, and has added two further corporations to its ranks, Veto Logistics and Veto Investments, both lead by close personal friends of Ethan.

Today the corporation exists under Ethan's leadership as a Gurista Capsuleer paramilitary corporation, heavily involved in the development and manufacture of prototype weapons, defence and munitions, most of which end up on the black market.

Veto Corp maintains a healthy roster of roughly 170 registered capsuleer commanders and countless support staff rumoured to number in the millions, with a monthly turnover and bank balance to rival if not exceed that of most well established Nullsec alliances.

Personality & Image

To what remains of his family and his close personal friends he is typically known as 'Xav', taken from the middle name he inherited from his grandfather. To most others he tends to be known as 'Ethan' or simply 'Verone'. Despite his history, he almost always appears to be the optimist and rarely turns down an opportunity. He maintains a strong and confident public image of a solid and skilled leader helped by his physical size and build, and is usually seen to be eternally loyal and respectful to those who are in return, while savage, brutal and unforgiving to those who cross him.

Behind the bright blue gaze and immaculate Federation Navy poster boy image typical of the Gallente, he shares more in common with the Caldari than any other race. A lightening fast thinker, with savage and cut throat business practices and negotiation skill.

Away from work, many of his friends tend to see him as supportive and willing to give advice. He maintains an image as a typical fun-loving Gallente twenty-something, and is generally seen as somewhat of a practical joker. Those who barely know him are often intimidated by his physical size and reputation.

He is rarely seen in formal dress, usually opting for casual baggy combats, running sneakers, and typically Gallente tight semi-translucent T-Shirts. When he does dress formally his oversized frame carries a well tailored suit exceptionally well, he generally favours black, or pure white. All his clothes appear to be immaculately tailored, and custom made due to his height.

Personal Life & Lifestyle

Ethan has always been physically active and a huge fan of his home world's national sport of dunesurfing. He took up the sport from a young age, and still continues to enjoy it to this day along with his strong love for swimming. In recent years he has also taken a shine to Gravball, a Matari originated sport, and Splinterz given the heavy Caldari influence in his life from his fiancée and the Guristas.

Strangely he completely avoids the Stateside tradition of gambling on the sport, and is only ever seen to gamble in a game of Poker. He also remains a keen marksman and weapons designer and lives a reserved lifestyle for a Gallente of such wealth. His lifestyle however is still extremely extravagant and excessive by Caldari standards, with rumours of a number of luxurious planetside estates and retreats.

Coupled with planetside real estate, he also owns and operates a notorious restaurant and nightclub by the name of 'The Last Gate' and by normal standards could be considered an alcoholic, however given his size he tends to hold the copious amounts of alcohol he consumes well. Surprisingly, given his line of work and regular business clients, he has a deep hate for Narcotics and the drugs trade, that most believe stems from his own fight with addiction and the loss of his younger brother Luke, who was killed by a disgruntled Exile dealer.

In terms of his personal life, until recently his experiences have been turbulent at best. After losing his parents in early 93YC, his brother Luke was shot dead outside a Bar in Stacmon in October 107. In September 109, one of his longest serving pilots and closest friends, Mikato 'DarkElf' Tarawa, suffered a Mindlock during a routine clonejump from Lonetrek to Sinq Laison. Coupled with this, his first girlfriend Sima Devereux was reported missing two days after he fled the Federation in 106, and shortly after the formation of Veto Corp he was almost stabbed to death by his girlfriend at the time, suffering in excess of twenty puncture wounds in a frenzied knife attack.

He has been linked to a long string of women in the past including several notable capsuleers along with a number of non-eggers, with the reputation in his early years as somewhat of a rich outlaw playboy. Marriage failed to assist the situation, his first to fellow Gurista Naphtalia lasting only fourteen months before divorce. He now shares a much more private personal life of which he is aggressively protective, with colleague and long term friend of many years Kyoko Sakoda.

Political Opinion

Ethan maintains his love for the Gallente people, however he remains an open and outspoken critic of the Federal administration and Senate for what he considers in his own words to be their 'spineless and directionless' leadership. If he were still a citizen, he would probably be considered a Hawk if it were not for his respect for the Caldari people. He typically finds himself torn, wanting to see the Federation push the Provists out of Luminaire, but let them be after a show of force re-establishes the border rather than launching a crusade for revenge into the State.

As well as being an atheist, Verone has a savage dislike for the Amarr Empire and Amarr Loyalists in general, to the point that most would probably consider him racist. He also despises slavery and has actively worked in the past with Republic Loyalists, such as Electus Matari to assist in the release of slaves. Coupled with this, it is commonly estimated that almost a third of the Veto Corp non-capsuleer workforce are former detainees which the corporation now provides for and pays. Ethan remains an open critic of Tibus Heth and his Provist regime, and openly voiced his support for Otro Gariushi during the tensions between the State and Federation prior to the attacks on the Ishukone Corporation's Headquarters in Malkalen.

One thing is certain with regards to Verone's political stance, the corporation is fully committed to assisting the Guristas.

Medical Notes

Ethan was born as a perfectly normal child, no different from his twin sister. He grew rapidly from childbirth, reaching the height of 200cm by the time he was just 16 years old due to the effects of an over active pituitary gland. Physically he maintains a high level of fitness and an immaculate appearance, and suffers no ill health from his bizarre growth rate, which has now all but subsided. His height and build are often a source of amusement and self mocking for him in conversation with friends and family.

When taken into Federal Care as a teen by Poteque Pharmaceuticals, the only confirmed fact known is that he received extensive therapy and treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder. The remainder of his entire medical history remains a closely guarded secret between himself and his private Physician, Toma Einmoch.

Mentally, Ethan manages to keep his issues under control as a sufferer of Ultradian Bipolar disorder. The majority of the time he appears in public as his usual confident, laid back and charismatic self. There have been very few instances where he has publicly lost his cool, however those who have been witness to it in rare cases have simply described it as 'psychotic', 'savage', 'brutal' and 'inhuman'.

There are speculations by many medical professionals that he more than likely suffers from acute Dissociative Identity Disorder, which could explain the cases of extreme rage that occur in his otherwise laid back and relaxed approach to life.

The Life Of An Outlaw

A huge number of Ethan's experiences in life and the leadership of his corporation, and a lot of out of character detail about his history and the events that have shaped his life are presented and chronicled in The Life Of An Outlaw, a series of short stories written by the player behind his character.
