FYI, all your redirects to IDB pages seem to be broken. Probably some sort of bug associated with linking there - not sure. However, for now and the near future, it's probably best to avoid making any more broken redirects until we can fix the problem. --ISD Salpsan 02:44, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
- During my initial testing of this issue, I checked to see if approving fixed the problem. Most redirects don't work unless approved. However, redirects don't show up in the moderation queue, and have to be found and approved manually. Unfortunately, the long url item database redirects didn't work, approved or not. To make sure, I just went through your contributions and approved every page you made (you've been busy...). I may have missed one or two - feel free to point them out if you discover any I missed. Anyway, my approvals fixed 3-4 redirects that linked to normal pages, but no long long url IDB redirects. I just checked my email and the bug tracker, and I don't see any updates on this issue, sorry. --ISD Salpsan 10:55, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
- I think I figured it out. The redirs won't work unless someone makes an edit to the page. If there is no edits to the page, mediawiki assumes it is a dead link, and won't redir even though there is IDB info there. I will update the bug tracker to reflect this new information as soon as I get home and hopefully our wonderful devs will resolve it. And btw, finding unapproved redirs is kind of hard, considering they don't show up in the mod queue. To check, I have to search for them and manually add &redirect=no to the end... there is no way to tell if someone else has done it --ISD Salpsan 07:54, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
