Hi again Barnens,
Just a note to say when you edit pages can you not use excessive amounts of ---- in pages and instead use headers such as ==sometext==? It helps the overall layout of the page if you do it this way. Also it is not necessary to sign your edits every time as these will just be removed in moderation.

Escrow

Hi Barbens, Your Escrow page was written from too much of a personal point of view and not formal enough to fit in with the EVElopedia. I've pasted the page below in case you'd like to work on it, as it could be a valuable historical article for the wiki.

To make it work, I would suggest trying to keep as much as possible to facts or opinions felt by the general playerbase, without too much of your own gripes with it.

Escrow was the old way to do business in New Eden,prior to the contracts system. Thank god for the contracts system.

As you would bring up your console, you'd notice the option to look at escrow. It was like that little tainted button that you really felt dirty pushing. In your mind you knew that there was just things there, looking good, but being bad. Someone was in there, on the other side of that console waiting to rip you off...

But you dove in anyway, hoping to be that guy who found that amazing 'deal' some poor soul had mistyped into his price. Being the guy who had just swindled someone else. A bookmark vendor, selling instas; Instas that warped you to a POS set to kill anything that approached.

Maybe you were the person who got scammed, and posted 1 piece of trit, simply to put your message in the line saying that "xxx is a scammer! avoid!" Simply not realizing that, yes it was good data to pass, but you made yourself look more stupid while posting it.

The sadest part of the Escrow system was the guys i mentioned earlier. The Insta book mark sellers. The legit ones, not the evil scammer types. These guys spent hours collecing book markes, before this new fangled ability to warp to a stargate at 0 meters thing came out.

Side note, i still thing its dangerous. If that ship overshoots, then what? You've knocked a gate out of comission for a week or more. But enough rambling.

The poor vendors had no product left to sell. Who wanted bookmarks, that you didnt need? All those hours spent collecting, and then advertising on escrow, wasted. Thus is the fickle nature of New Eden....

There is no way to manually add you to that list. If you really want to see your name there, simply make an edit of any kind to the page and save. Fix spelling error, add a single sentence, etc. --ISD Salpsan 18:48, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
