General Information

Cygwin Gaad is currently an industrialist director in The Element Syndicate. He is skilled in Tech 2 manufacturing, Reactions, Wormhole life and Exploration. He has served in 0.0 with MWA, ASCN, SCA and the GBC.

Early Life

Cygwin started his pod life in the School of Applied Knowlege and learned from the elder newbcorp members for roughly 2 months, during this time he was an active member in the TDIR initiative. Cygwin build his industrial skills and was able to access level 3 caldari navy missions before contacting a few player corps which shared his timezone.

Anzac Alliance

Cyg applied to join Anza in july 06 and moved to amarr space. Feet firmly planted in mission running and T1 manufacturing Cyg flew with Anza for the better part of a year and a half.

Anza was allied with Miners With Attitude and had access to the Z-7 station in Omist. Cyg recieved his copy of the Roomarks insta bookmarks pack and flew the pipe down. He cut his teeth in 0.0 here working with his corpmembers and even assisted in downing an angels officer spawn and retrieved a macharial blueprint which was subsequently lost in a gatecamp returning the bp to high-sec.

Exiting news graced anza with Sharmina revealing that the corp was to create Southern Cross Alliance and had been accepted as an attache to the largest indy alliance in eve at the time, ASCN. ASCN had even granted SCA space in Paragon soul. Cyg assisted with the mass move to PS and set up in GQ2 and MP5.

Cygwin continued to be an active member in ANZA, eventually coming to work under manufacturing officer Kicka. Out of Eve, Cyg also did much design work for the Anza forums and killboard.

With Anza moving largely into Pargon soul some internal strife saw Cygwin promoted to Empire Manufacturing Officer and was responsible for producing t1 goods in Hisoufad for corp use. Cygwin produced many frigates for the pvp training and tournaments held by ANZA.

While in ANZA and SCA, Cygwin had weatherd a few wars and scuffles, had participated in pos takedowns and defended corp space in PS with vigor when needed but there was a dark cloud on the horizon.

The Pendulum War

Band of Brothers declared war on ASCN a few short weeks after SCA moved into Paragon soul and Rooman declared all hands on deck to defend the G-Magic entrance to PS. Cygwin was busy with Kicka and the other manufacturers turning the stockpile of minerals into battleships to replace losses as BoB threw themselves at the GMT+10 gatecamps. POSses were erected and taken down and the stalwart SCA repelled the invaders for two weeks, even pushing back and planting a foothold into TPAR and TCAG, for several days SCA had legitimate sovreignty in these Period Basis systems. Anza requested assistance from ASCN several times and the limited resources that were deployed in response damaged morale as pilots felt they were abandoned to face the BoB onslaught.

In reality this was quite correct. SCA expended all their resources defending against BoB and eventually the GQ2 hub system was conquored. SCA sent word to ASCN that they had done their all and were withdrawing back to empire now they had effectively lost their space. in debreifing it was revealed that ASCN had taken SCA on and placed them in Paragon Soul to act as a 'speedbump' against the impending BoB war, projections were put at 2 and 5 days and the Anza resiliance surprised ASCN high command. Disgusted, Cygwin and much of SCA collected their things and were about to exit to HS when a surprising turn in the negotiations for a 48hr extraction NAP from BoB led to BoB offering SCA to switch sides, join the GBC and retain their space for being such good combatants. SCA agreed. Cygwin was pleased he didnt have to move.

Some of SCA did not agree with the 'betrayal' and left to form Antipodean Inc, 3ungle and Kicka included, two of Cygs very good friends. Cygwin was promoted to Chief 0.0 Manufacturing officer and inherited a scant handful of minerals. SCA spent much of the rest of the war recovering their assets and rebuilding. Cygs job was directionless and without the guidance of mining director 3ungle the mineral influx was shallow. Demands exceeded supply and after BoB steamrolled through Feyth and Esoteria, SCA was given notice to move into proximity of HED-GP. Cyg rejected this order and chose to stay in GQ2.

Logistically the alliance was strained and the new HQ was dangerously close to some UNL russian capital fleet. The situation was untenable and Roomans increasingly paranoid and warlike nature led Cyg to decide to leave Paragon soul altogether, with a tempting offer from Antipodean inc and other old friends in the west. He collected up his things in a few badger IIs and made his way up the pipe to Aridia. Cyg took his MP5 jumpclone up the pipe and clonejumped back to GQ2.

Cyg never expected to run into hostiles on the pipe back through BoB space, especially not after he just ran through it a half an hour before, but in YQX Cyg noticed two reds on his overview after he jumped through the gate. it didnt register that he had jumped into a gatecamp until the Badger II and a third of his 0.0 life evaporated into a cloud of atomised titanium carbonide.

It was too much. The war, the stress, the loss. IRL i sat there and stared at the screen, me in my beeping pod and two red flashy IRON pilots waiting. a torrent of frustrated abuse erupted into local chat. Cygs stream of vitriol and frustration at being a non-combatant who wanted to start over poured over the IRON pilots and swayed them. Feeling remourseful for what they had done they escorted Cyg to the nearest station, bought him a new badger, gave him his remaining stuff and escorted him out of 0.0.

Cyg docked in aridia, climbed out of his pod, sat down and cried. The stresses of being a big zero alliance pilot had gotten to him and he walked away from it all.

IRL i logged off, cancelled my account and found something else to do.

Return to EVE

For a year exactly Cygwin assisted running the repro plant and assembly lines in that station. Keeping in contact with his lazy brother Firis and trying to forget the capsuleer life.

Eventually the sting of loss wore off and an old friend from Amarr space contacted him and told him of the exploits him and his corp have been up to, even building a carrier. Cygwin climbed back into his pod exactly a year later, boarded his mothballed Badger II and logged back onto the Anza galnet. Some familiar faces greeted him, some positively, some negatively. Rooman had taken over as CEO from Sharmina and the SCA had moved into Kor-Azor and Aridia with sovreignty down the east side of Querious.

Cygwin signed back on with ANZA and amalgamated his assets into Neesher where he began building ships and running missions with the corp. He enjoyed the community for a while however eventually the big zero politics got to him with SCA no longer being the even indy/combat split but now being almost wholly combat. Rooman was always on edge and wasnt particularly fond of Cyg. Cygwin was speaking his woes to Caldari 5, the oddly named IRL friend who got him back in the pod and Cal offered Cyg the chance to chat with his CEO and friend Dieldrin Alder.

DA, as he came to be nicknamed, ran an industrial playgroup called The Element Syndicate, a pretty laid back mine and build chop-shop operated out of Villore backed by the Black Mesa Project, whatever that was. DA was pretty pleased by Cygs resume and was given a personal reference by Cal 5. Cyg bid farewell and good hunting to Anzac Alliance and to his surprise an Obelisk freighter arrived in Neesher to move his operation up to Villore.

Cygwin worked dutifully for The Element Syndicate putting his research and refinery skills to good use, first dipping his toes into T2 production then jumping in head first using the corp research pos to invent T2 Blueprints. DA elevated Cyg to Core Member status due to his continued toil for corp gain. After the Seyllin incident Cyg joined up with the ELSYN explorer corps to probe the secrets of the new W-space and working with DA on unlocking the secrets of T3 ship production.

Some internal strife with the executor corp of Black Mesa Project and the combat arm of BMP led both to be ejected from the alliance and the leadership of the Alliance landed on ELSYN, specifically, DA's shoulders. During a curious war Cygwin showed initiative and opened diplomatic channels with the agressors, leading to BMP discovering that the war was due to a remenant diplomatic tie with the ex-executor. For his efforts Cyg was appointed an Alliance Diplomat. Shortly after with ELSYN number continuing to grow thanks to Marcus Atntony and Dieldrin attending to the larger matters of Alliance management, Caldari 5 kept busy keeping the POS' fuelled, Cygwin was elevated to Director status, given the keys to the clean toilet in the corp hangar and allowed to see into the 6th and 7th division hangars.

Cygwin reluctantly accepted the position of responsibility but cautioned DA;

"...dont do this, i'll just flip out some time down the track and steal everything you own."

still obviously concerned about his mental state as a pod pilot.

Since then Cygwin has worked cooperatively on several projects, has greatly improved his previously abysmal Gallente Federation standing and slipped into Tech 2 ship building and piloting like a duck to water. Cyg has also proven to be a skilled combat support pilot, flying Logistics and Electronic warfare in Alliance sanctioned operations.

Time went on and Elsyn left executorship of BMP to join The Hand that Feeds alliance alongside many other member corps. Then the unthinkable happened. Dieldrin Alder announced he would be leaving the pod life, the stress of CEO and Executorship was too much and he stepped down leaving Caldari5 to take the reigns of Elsyn.

Alliance business with HTF went well and ELSYN manages to stake a claim in a Class 3 and a Class 4 wormhole when they opened, dubbed the Hamster Cage and The 4. Elsyn started producing Tech3 components and ships with Cygwin in charge. Caldari5 headed up the capital building program and things were going well.

After a year of being CEO, Caldari5 stepped down to focus on his manufacturing and appointed Cygwin as CEO of The Element Syndicate. Cyg immediately appointed K'Smith'Y, a long standing member of Elsyn as a new director.
