Introduction

This page is not a background for the character Blake Rathen, but outlines the EVElopedia contributions and projects of the player of Blake Rathen.

OOC naming convention for Blake:

Blake Rathen (Bureeiku Reiiden, nee Bureeiku Komaatsu):

Bureeiku (play on adopted english word in Japanese bureiku, meaning 'break'), as he breaks from the family line, with a change of last name, and also as a capsuleer (break from humanity... etc.). Becomes 'Blake' when his name is rendered in Gallente just prior to being moved to Achura as a child.

Original Caldari Family Name: Komaatsu (ripoff of the well-known Japanese industrial conglomerate 'Komatsu', but also taken as a compound word from the Japanese: Ko=child, and Matsu=to wait, meaning 'the awaited child'. This is the Father's family name, and he is a prodigal scientist, but also Blake's born name, which applies to him too as he is a reconciler.

Rathen: mother's maiden name, with supposed Gallente orgins, but is a common enough western name (see: Rathen (Germany), Rathen (Scotland) for examples). This name also is easy to 'Japonify' as Raiden, meaning thunder and lightening, which describes the personality of Blake's mother (she continues to have an interesting role).
