Trial account issues

How do I activate my trial account?

To start your trial account you simply click on the "Try Now" link on our main page. You will be taken to a registration page where you need to fill in your e-mail address and a code to start the registration process. Click on "Get your free trial" and an e-mail will be sent to you with a link to the registration page. There you will choose a username and complete the registration process. After you complete this process, your account is ready to start exploring EVE.

If you want to extend your account once the trial time has expired, go to the Account Management section and log in. There click the "Reactivate trial account" link and you will be taken to a page to select your payment method. Follow the steps there to complete your payment and to register your account into a full account. Trial users DO NOT need to purchase the game CD from a store or buy a new CD key, the trial subscription will simply be converted to a regular subscription. Note that only the first month is $19.95, after which the regular fees apply. Once you have started the subscription you can continue playing on the account you created for duration of the trial.

CD/trial key invalid, does not exist or is already in use, what can I do?

If you get a message stating any of these errors, please make sure that the CD key has been correctly typed in the account creation process. Here are examples of characters that are commonly misread and mixed together:

• O vs 0 (zero)
• B vs 8
• L vs I
• S VS 5

If you have made sure that mistyping is not the reason for the error, please return your copy to the retailer where it was bought and you should be able to get a new copy or a refund. If everything fails, file a petition.

Why can´t I log on with my trial account?

There is a limit of how many trial accounts can be logged onto our server simultaneously. As this limit is quite high it should not affect you much except possibly during peak hours. If you get the message that the trial quota is full, you should be able to log in by retrying a couple of times.

Furthermore, you can only have one trial account running on the same computer at any given time.
