Template talk:Move

Redundancy

Template accepted but isn't it a bit redundant with the {{merge}} >template ? --ISD Elumiel 18:09, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Actually, no. Merge is to combine or to incorporate into a better parent document. Move is to rename outright. They serve distinct purposes. --Mariokoli Mianana 18:41, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
I agreed with Marioki, fr example you could request to move an article in it's entirity for naming conventions purposes (i.e. my corp -> my corp (Player corporations) and request merging the articles about Blue cheese and Gouda cheese into the cheese article as chapters of that article. This discussion has also taken place on IRC and the general consensus is that this template is appropriate and distinct from Template:Merge. --Mariokoli Mianana 00:25, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Case Sensitivity

The first letter of any page is not case sensitive. Thus Template:Move and Template:move are equivalent. I'm removing the inaccurate comment. --Mariokoli Mianana 19:18, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

I was under the same assumption however the template example doesn't work if you call the template with move instead of Move. Maybe template usage is the exception, or it might be a bug within t6he template, I dunno. DrAtomic 19:45, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
{{move:dont move this is a test}} outputs Template:Move:dont move this is a test instead of the correct move box. DrAtomic 20:22, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
