GoonSwarm announced a campaign around March 2008 against miners and industrialists, commonly referred to as 'Jihadswarm'. They killed off over 1,100 barges/industrialists over three months. In response, a wealthy Industrialist created an alt (TeddyBr FTW) to raise ISK from donations in order to hire mercenaries to destroy GoonSwarm ships. He also coined the term 'Goonie Gasbags' to refer to GoonSwarm pilots.

TeddyBr was at first thought to be a GoonSwarm alt scammer, but concerns were put to rest when he hired Chribba, providing his full API key so that his account could be monitored.

TeddyBr was featured in an IC article written by Magnus Balteus.

In a period of two months he was able to raise over 8 billion ISK from other players, and he hired three different merc organizations. These mercs caused more than 40 billion ISK of damage to GoonSwarm ships. His actions were extremely popular with the industrialist community, and the campaign was considered a success.
