Webbing a ship is a common tactic in PvP warfare and typically used against smaller faster vessels such as Interceptors, Frigates, Assault Frigates, Cruisers, and some Heavy Assault Cruisers. Slowing the ships down using a webifier makes it much easier to dictate the range of a fight, and prevents the enemy from outrunning you, which makes it an valuable asset in PvP encounters.

The stasis webifier's popularity has diminished somewhat in recent times due to the changes to the way Microwarp Drives and Warp scramblers interact.
