Formation of Corporation

Shiva was formed March 14, 2006 during a merger of various corporations present around the Taurus constellation of Fountain at that time. The primary corps that merged to form Shiva were Elite Academy, Ranger Corp, and Cold Fusion Inc., all former Fountain Alliance members, who had previously left Fountain Alliance to join Vertigo Coalition.

2006 Activities and Major Events

Upon formation Shiva Corporation became executor corporation of Vertigo Coalition. A few months after formation a invitation was extended by Morsus Mihi (MM) by the current executor of MM, 4S Corporation, as MM was predominantly european time zone based and Shiva was north american time zone based. Previous history with MM corporations, which were all ex members of Fountain Alliance at that time, also was a major reason for the invitation. Based on the current situation in Fountain at that time, the decision was made to leave Fountain and move to Tribute to join MM. This occurred on 21 June, 2006.

Upon moving to the area of tribute, Shiva initially decided to get it's "feet wet" in the area by moving to the Jan system and beginning an offensive against the large quantities of pirates that were then present in the lowsec systems adjacent to Tribute. After a few weeks of terrorizing the local pirates (who eventually left the area), operations were shifted to the D7-ZAC system.

At this time the major power in the north was Dusk and Dawn (D2). Due to a mistake in sovereignty control, D2 left the conquerable station in XZH-4X, in the Cloud Ring region, open to anyone who wanted to try to take it as there was no sovereignty in system for a short period of time. Goonswarm who were living in Syndicate at that time, saw an opportunity to grab their own space. They therefore attacked and attempted to gain control of the station. Morsus Mihi moved their forces to Cloud Ring to help D2 defend their holdings. This proved to be a mistake, as Venal residents Tau Ceti Federation (TCF) used this as an opportunity to attack Tribute. Due to the majority of MM being in Cloud Ring to fight Goonswarm, this then allowed TCF to quickly gain control of D7-ZAC station system and dispute control of the other MM station system in H-W9TY. However, their efforts to capture this station were eventually unsuccessful.

After about 6 months of hard, trench fighting (including what was at time one of the largest capital engagements in eve, with about 15 capital ships destroyed) TCF was defeated in Tribute. Shiva Corporation was key to the success of this effort as TCF was heavily european time based, while Shiva was North American based. This allowed Shiva to attack TCF holdings during their off peak hours with little to no opposition. The aftermath of the war saw Shiva Corporation assume control of the conquerable station in IMK-K1, which had previously been controlled by GUARD alliance. This station has served as the de-facto HQ for Shiva Corporation ever since. In addition in December of this year, Koth Fluf, Shiva Co-CEO, assumed command as alliance leader and Shiva itself became the executor corporation of Morsus Mihi.

2007 Activities and Major Events

2007 was notable due to the major war against Band of Brothers (BoB) and the aftermath of the T20 affair. Due to the obvious potential negative long term consequences of a Goonswarm collapse, plus a overt threat made by SirMolle that the North would be next after Goonswarm was finished off, the decision was made to intervene on the side of the Red Swarm Federation (RSF). This campaign started for Shiva with an assault on the Querious with other Northern Coalition (NC) members. This offensive continued against Firmus Ixion alliance, a member of the Greater BoB Community (GBC), the coaltion led by BoB.

Operations were also undertaken in the Fountain region as well. However, during this time, Mercenary Coalition alliance, on contract from Band of Brothers alliance, was rolling up from Period Basis where they were based, through Outer Ring, Cloud Ring, and Deklein regions, displacing the residents there. At this point (11 May 2007) the decision was made to return to Tribute to defend it from what was now being called the "New North", which was made up of mostly corps aligned to the Greater BoB Community. They then assaulted Branch causing the collapse of Dusk and Dawn, despite efforts to prevent this from happening by Morsus Mihi and Shiva Corporation, and then took over Tenal, displacing RAZOR Alliance from their home. MM, and Shiva Corporation specifically, allowed RAZOR Alliance to live out of the IMK-K1 system, under control of Shiva Corporation, to continue fighting against the enemy forces. Shiva asked for nothing in return for this.

After this, the enemy offensive stalled; at no time did the New North contest or even really attempt to gain control of any systems or territory in the Tribute region. It is thought that the leaders of the New North, Mercenary Coalition, did not want to get into an extended and possibly difficult conquest of Tribute. Whatever the reason, a series of counterattacks were commenced, starting from IMK-K1 system. Tenal region was recaptured, and branch soon followed. During this time Deklein was taken away from forces aligned to the New North by Triumvirate. alliance, effectively ending the threat to the North by the New North. Victory was accomplished by surrender of their forces on Sunday, September 30, 2007.

After a rearming phase, the decision was made to head south to recommence attacks on the forces of Greater BoB Community. Operations were again moved to Fountain region to remove the Band of Brothers presence from this region. The year came to a close with the capture of the Gallente Outpost in PNQY-Y, assisted by Shiva Corporation capital forces.

2008 Activities and Major Events

The campaign against GBC in Fountain continued, mostly attacking undefended POS and the occasional conquerable station. Against almost no opposition until the assault on Y-2ANO during the closing days of the campaign, the removal of almost all GBC presence was accomplished.

After this phase of the campaign, the operation area was switched to the Querious region to finish the removal of GBC forces from this region. This was accomplished as well. The final phase, the assault on Delve was begun. However due to stiffening enemy resistance, and the seeming decline of the nature of the enemy threat, the decision was made to stop offensive operations and return to Tribute.

During the time that Morsus Mihi had been active in Querious, Insurgency had been attacking and conquering Branch, which at that time was populated by many small alliances. Morsus Mihi had both sides at positive standings and therefore decided not to intervene or interfere in the conflict. By the time of the return to Tribute, a good part of Branch was under Insurgency control. Relations with Insurgency and MM and Shiva Corporation specifically had also worsened due to Insurgency using blue status in Tribute to kill allies in Tribute, particularly in M-OEE8 and in NJ4X-S systems. The situation continued to worsen until skirmishes broke out in Branch between Insurgency and RAZOR Alliance. Insurgency was set neutral by MM on Monday, March 03, 2008, due to these factors. The decision was later made to remove Insurgency from Branch to prevent a potentially dangerous threat from forming on the north border of Tribute, and to also assist RAZOR Alliance who had already been openly hostile to Insurgency.

The fight for Branch commenced around mid-april, 2008. During this time, Triumvirate. alliance had decided to ally itself with Insurgency, and contributed a large amount of ships to the defense of Branch. However, their numbers were not enough to withstand the full force of the entire Northern Coalition (NC) and victory was obtained in about a month, with Triumvirate. and Insurgency disbanding. Also occuring on April 1, 2008 4s Corporation and Vuk Lau became alliance executor corp and alliance leader, respectively.

A period of relative quiet then began for a few months, however, by mid july the old nemesis in the form of Greater BoB Community generally and Band of Brothers specifically by their announcement of their "MAX Campaign". The stated goal of their effort was to destroy all things they could destroy, and then move on to their next target. Their effort started against Imperial Republic of the North and PURE., both of which had taken over territory in Deklein in addition to their other holdings in the drone regions and Vale of the Silent respectively. Shiva provided support against the GBC but was unable to stop the GBC from taking the region; the effect of both alliances being divided between 2 regions that could not support each other, plus bad tactical and strategic decision making could not be overcome. In addition, shortly after the fall of Deklein, the next version of Triumvirate. had invaded Vale of the Silent and eliminated the alliances there, thus opening a hostile southern flank to Morsus Mihi. Simultaneously, in Cobalt Edge several russian led alliances (Solar Fleet/Solar Wing) were contesting control of Cobalt Edge from Mostly Harmless, so that they could not support the rest of the Northern Coalition against the attacking GBC. Sensing that the situation was therefore highly favorable the GBCs' next move was the direct attack on Tribute region itself, likely assuming that NC would be weak due to having to fight on 3 fronts at the same time. Initially due to server related issues and sneak attacks, the GBC was able to seize the systems of M-OEE8 and E-OGL4. From there resistance stiffened, and during a two week period not only did the GBC make no progress, they suffered the most extensive capital losses in the history of EVE, losing over 200 capital ships, including 2 titans and several motherships. Losses for Shiva Corporation in comparison were light; in fact the size of the corporate capital fleet increased during this time. Key support from the Red Swarm Federation was obtained in several different engagements, directly assisting in battles, as well as tying up enemy forces in Vale of the Silent and allowing the NC to concentrate it's efforts against the hostile GBC forces. The MAX Campaign soon afterwards drew to a close when GBC announced it's intent to withdraw from Tribute and go on the offensive against Goonswarm in the southern regions, ending the threat to Tribute.

From there cleanup efforts were begun in Deklein, Vale of the Silent, and Pure Blind to remove all GBC presence. These efforts were completed by the end of December, 2008, thus drawing this conflict filled year to a close.

In addition, on 23 December 2008, a new amarr factory outpost was launched in W6VP-Y. This brings the number of stations owned by Shiva Corporation to two.

2009 Activities and Major Events

2009 was dominated by "Second Great War" as it became known in eve. In addition, in mid January, former CEO Koth Fluf and a significant number of members of Shiva left to reform Dynaverse Corporation. At the end of 2008, Band of Brothers and their allies, as well as Against ALL Authorities (and their allies) had commenced an assault on Goonswarm in their holdings in Feythabolis. On January 2, 2009 orders were given to Morsus Mihi to deploy to LJ-YSW to begin the defense of Goonswarm holdings. Sporadic fighting then began over a multi-region area of the south, with Morsus Mihi redeploying several times from Curse to Agil. Results of this fighting were mainly indecisive. The hostile coalition made territorial progress mainly in areas that had been previously abandoned by Tau Ceti Federation when they had moved to occupy Deklein in mid December 2008. On the allied side however, a morale boost was recieved when a Avatar class titan was destroyed in H-ADOC by a well excuted trap. However, on the whole, the strategic situation was one of slow attrition warfare with neither side able to claim significant advantage over their enemy.

This situation changed radically on the 5th of Febuary, 2009 when by using a director level defector, Haargoth Agamar, Goonswarm commandeered the contents of Black Nova Corp hangars, and then due to his roles in the exector holding corporation of Band of Brothers, kicked all corporations from the alliance and then disbanded the alliance. Band of Brothers literally ceased to exist overnight. In addition, adding insult to injury, Goonswarm formed a corporation using the name of the alliance now formerly known as Band of Brothers, making it impossible for them to reclaim their name. They also revealed (later revealed as a bluff) they had an archive of the entire contents of the directors forum of the alliance formerly known as Band of Brothers.

The results for Band of Brothers and their war effort were immediate and catastropic. All Sovereignty in their home region of delve was instantly lost, causing all cynojammers and other well entrenched defensive structures to go offline, making the entire region instantly open for assault. In addition, Band of Brothers in response to what they believed was a complete penetration of their forums, decided to make their forums public to "prevent goons from altering their archive to their advantage". This then made it possible for their allies to read bob internal communcations where BoB, in private memos between their leaders, had written multiple highly derisive evaluations of many of their allies. Therefore, just as BoB was entering a phase where they needed maximum assistance from their friends, they had been given evidence that they only had value as "meat shielding", thus lowering their morale and participation in BoB lead endeavors. Band of Brothers did reform quickly under the banner of the KenZoku alliance, however the damage had been done.

Morsus Mihi, as well as the rest of the allied powers immediately ceased operations in the Feythabolis area and moved to assault Delve, the home region of the now named KenZoku alliance; Goonswarm abandoned their former holdings and moved en masse to Delve. The initial result was that multiple Outposts held for years by BoB were easily seized by alliance forces, as well as several capital ship assembly arrays, likely building titans were also quickly destroyed. In battles on the 13th of Febuary, the KenZoku leader, SirMolle's Titan was destroyed by alliance forces in a pitched battle, further boosting allied morale. However, KenZoku resistance was still heavy, and it seemed possible that they might withstand the onslaught to recover Sovereignty to the point where any further advances would take far more effort and isk than had previously been the case.

However, then KenZoku committed yet another blunder, this one deciding effectively the entire war in the favor of the alliance. After the loss of the titan, they commanded all their forces to group in the PR-8CA and log off in the station there. The result of this was catastrophic as alliance forces (including Shiva Corporation) then camped the station with large amounts of subcapitals and warp disruption bubbles, making any undocking attempt nearly suicidial. With enemy coalition forces trapped in PR-8CA for a month and unable to respond to allied advances, Delve was rapidly brought under control.

After the subjugation of Delve, this then left 2 regions still under Greater BoB Community forces, Period Basis, and Querious. A two pronged assault was then begun, with Morsus Mihi leading the way in the Period Basis region. After what was called the "quickest fall of a sov 4 constellation in eve to date" Period Basis was secured. This therefore left only the Querious under control of Greater BoB Community forces. Sustained assaults were commenced until KenZoku only held one station, in the 49-U6U. Alliance operations then sucessfully liberated this system (culminating in the infamous "Assault Titan Conga Formation") on June 19, 2009. KenZoku was thus completely eliminated as a spaceholding alliance.

After the end of KenZoku, another southern deployment was later ordered to assist allies in the south against Atlas Alliance in JLO-Z3; this deployment was unsuccessful with the collapse of allied forces in the area. This was followed by a period of relative quiet, however after this Pandemic Legion and their allies began an effort to obtain high end moons in Pure Blind and attempting to gain control of Cloud Ring. The moon assaults in Pure Blind where beaten back, however Cloud Ring was ceded by Mostly Harmless to Evoke. |
