"We've stolen princesses back from sleeping Angel Warlords. We burned the regions of Curse and Stain. We spent the night with Red Alliance and left with both sanity and life. Our members were expelled from universities and barracks at a younger age than most people are allowed in. We tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during day. We have talked to Gods, loved women, and written songs that make the Gallente weep. Where there is light, there is Shadow."

Welcome to the Shadow Company wiki page here on Evelopedia

Shadow Company is a PVP corporation, living in 0.0 security status space, the lawless badlands of the EVE-Online universe.

The corporation was formed in the summer of 2003, shortly after the first Capsuleers of New Eden awoke, following the collapse of the Earth & Beyond universe.

Nearly 6 Years on and the corporation continues its PVP tradition, striking hard and fast then disappearing like a ghost, just to return later to strike again.

Shadow Company's success is based on teamwork. It's a home to its pilots, a home that supports each of them while they work towards their goals, backed to the hilt by thier corp-mates. Many of the members have been playing EVE for years and have been in the corporation for years. Its command is centred around a group of 6 directors (1 being the ceo) and 2-4 officers.

The corporations main ideal is mobility. Skirmish/Roaming warfare is our preferred style, the corporations policy's and assets are flexible, its members versatile and able to strike far from home with the minimum of logistics.

If your a lover of skirmish warfare, small unit tactics and have your own initiative and drive then Shadow Company is the corporation for you.

Shadow History - Early days

Shadow Company has been around longer than EVE. Dark Deeds, Stan Bowman and John Silver met in Earth and Beyond and continued into EVE the corporation they had there.

In the early days of EVE Shadow Company found it's self invited to the Outer Ring region, the stay was a brief one and under the wing of Storm Guard Elite the corp was welcomed into a newly formed Stain Alliance as one of the first corps accepted into it.

A year after joining this alliance CCP officially recognized these entities and a formal alliance was created and called Stain Empire.

2003-2005

For 2 years Stain fought against there mortal but respected enemies of Curse Alliance forming allies with other alliances such as Xetic, FSA and having fragile relationships with FIX and FA.

With the fall of CA and napping of the newly formed Red Alliance Stain lost its way somewhat and the constant combat and fleet battles that so many had thrived on were no longer there.

MASS were the first corp to leave to go their own way and Shadow Company departed soon after along with our old mentors of Storm Guard, The Collective, Species 5678 and others to form a Coalition who attacked the stagnating Xetic Alliance, many of whom where accused of getting rich while SA was a buffer for them against CA in their long war.

The Coalition was not alone in this fight. 5 corporations, some old friends some old enemies but all admired and respected, formed a loose band calling themselves "The 5" (Atuk, Shinra, Supremacy, Black reign and Black omega Security).

The war against Xetic was not a long one and the conflict was soon over, it was around about this time that an old Stain ally merged with Shadow Company, BPC corp.

An invitation was sent for the coalition members to rejoin Stain Empire and Species 5678 were to take up the role of executor corp with Cujo as the figurehead of the alliance.

Rejoining SE was a mistake for Shadow Company and discrete talks were held with high ranking "5" officials with the possibility of Shadow Company joining their ranks, now an official alliance also.

After fractured talks between SE and MASS regarding the latter rejoining the alliance as executors Shadow Company withdrew from the alliance, the mind of the directors being long made up to leave and Shadow Company left its long time home of Catch and Stain regions to go to pastures new but not entirely unfamiliar in Curse.

2005

After successfully harassing Red Alliance for some months in N-RAEL the alliance declared war against Shadow Company freeing their pilots to move out of 0.0 in the hunt for RA pilots.

It was now that the corp was joined by an old ally Burn Eden and a successful 3 week war saw well over 10b worth of assets destroyed or claimed by Shadow Company and our friends, the most notable sting was a hauler carrying 200,000 zydrine and 150,000 megacyte. This was back before warp-to-0, jump clones and before every man and his granny had a carrier so this kind of loss meant a lot in time as well as ISK.

Shadow Company pilots joined forces with Burn Eden once more in BWF in a campaign against TBB alliance another resounding success.

For a change of direction Shadow pilots found themselves as part of suicide squads ambushing hapless travelers in high sec systems sacrificing their ships for valuable cargo's the most notable being a Magnetic Field Stabilizer II BPO and a Mobile Medium Warp Disrupter BPO (at the time an item not available as a seeded item on the market and which sold for 9.5b)

2006

Soon after the successfull suicide squads, Shadow teamed up for mercenary contracts with 2 corporations, a newly formed Penetrate [POKE] (previously ANAL subject to change via complaints) and Drones of Annihilation [DoFA] with successful campaigns against Trinity Nova (a cowardly corp at the time whom actually took merc contracts but stayed well and truly docked) and against NFC alliance (with Burn Eden and making the headline news).

A couple of declarations of war against Shadow and her 2 new allies occurred around this time also by Mentally Unstable Enterprises (see Trinity nova), Miner Protection Guild (retracted before it went active) and by Beyond Divinity Inc (more game for a fight than Trinity and Mental but no notable success on their part).

An official in game alliance was created under the banner "Alektorophobia" (The fear of Chickens) in the summer of 2006 To bring the three corporations together but the alliance succumbed to politics and did not last long after some initial success. It wasn't helped by TCF, at the time an relatively unknown quantity, ousting Shadow from its long time home of S1DP in Curse, forcing a move to HLW.

2007

Shadow Company was invited to join LV in January of 2007 and took the plunge once again into a large established alliance. After several grueling months of POS warfare LV was forced to retreat to Stain, surrendering all its space to the joint Goonswarm and RA forces. Active and interested numbers dwindled in LV despite the best efforts of many FC's and leaders. Shadow Company decided to go back to being independent while still on good terms with LV.

Just before summer of 2007, not long after leaving LV, CRICE corporation came looking for Shadow. They had plans for a new alliance, with the initial plans headed by crice himself and DoV, and wanted us on board along with a few other corporations that were to leave the disintegrating LV.

The alliance was called Vigilance Infinitas and the long term future looked very promising. 1000 kills, including 3 freighters, in just 6 weeks for Shadow Company alone saw us go straight to the top of the alliance kill stats and stay there. We also had the addition of ISK Squad corp. They merged into Shadow, forming the new Black Sheep Squadron and have proved valuable and skilled PVPers. On top of that they brought more "Backroom" abilities such as web design and DTP.

Unfortunately, as with much in EVE, politics took hold yet again and several corporations within the alliance, including SHADO, decided to leave for pastures new.

The corporations that left VX formed the Freefall Securities Alliance [F-ALL] towards the end of summer 2007 which was featured in EON Magazine. We based out of Curse, bringing Shadow full circle in the space of 6 months, and to many it was a welcome return to an area well know to us. Its a target rich environment as some would put it and in EVE that's the dream of every PVPer.

In December of 2007 Fury Corporation, a member of F-ALL, merged into Shadow Company to form the Righteous Fury Squadron and, like ISK Squad, brought a host of skilled players into Shadow and made the corporation all the more powerful.

The final days of December also saw us move on again, having yet again been driven from Curse by TCF, not with out a fight though. 11 Carrier kills for 2 Carrier losses and a 78% successful Kill:Loss ratio being the highlight of our small scale engaments. TCF's aim would appear to have been the removal of the last remnants of any TCF/RA/Goon etc opposing forces from Curse and Great Wildlands at the time and they have been almost completely successful to give them their due.

2008

2008 started well, we started a new pvp campaign in Outer Ring and Freefall Securities was among the 5 nominees for best newcomers of 2008. The alliance also featured in EON Magazine.

In mid February, after 8 months of constant PVP, F-ALL closed. It came suddenly but it was evident that everyone was burned out. The corporations that made up the alliance have gone on to new things including Shadow.

From here, Shadow Company joined up with an old friend Domination corporation, buddies from our Curse days and together with Pelennor Swarm we had a crazy couple of months with a lot of killing but also a lot of moving around, creating and switching alliances, trying to help fix Phalanx Alliance until finally we came out the other side with the newly born Souls of Vengeance Alliance. SoV is the reformed Phalanx Alliance.

Wanting to leave the troubled alliances past behind, the remaining corporations closed PA and made a new alliance. SoV had some issues that we tried to fix while working with other corporations but it became evident that we could not help and in August of 2008, after much consideration and a massive increase in corporation activity and success since entering Venal, we decided that SoV was not for us. Something bigger and something we felt more connection with was needed.

When Goodfellas came calling and they said Curse was home it was an easy decision but just 2 weeks in it became evident that things in Goodfellas where not quite as we had thought they would be and just 4 weeks on there was a massive moral problem in the corps player base, everyone desperate to leave.

2008 was successfull but not very stable in the first half. The number of active players had increased, the effort as a corp had increased and more and more players where coming to the fore and showing how good an addition to the corp they where but finding a home was difficult.

We joined Axiom Empire late on in the year and spent a solid 5 months there. Constant epic GBC battles kept us going for many weeks but once these campaigns where over we started to see it wasnt really going to be the place for us.

Currently

At the start of 2009, as we edge closer to our 6th birthday we're off back to Stain of all places, theres some PVP and chaos to be had down there and for the first time in several years, the corp will be flying under Shadow Company colors alone, without an alliance ticker. See you in space!
