This module is needed for salvaging wrecks. It has a salvage range of 6,000m and gives a 7% chance per level to salvage a wreck.

In order to salvage some wrecks, having only a salvager and level 1 in the Salvaging skill is not adequate. Wrecks of T2 ships or Battleship Sleepers require a combination of higher level Salvaging skill, T2 Salvagers or Salvaging rigs. Please check the salvaging page for an in-depth explanation of access difficulties.

The Salvager II is an enhanced, Tech 2 version of the Salvager. While it requires Salvaging level V, it provides an extended salvage range (6,000m for the T2 versus 5,000m for the T1 version) and an overall 10% bonus to salvage chance versus its T1 counterpart.
