This module is needed for salvaging wrecks. It has a salvage range of 6,000m and gives a 7% chance per level to salvage a wreck.

Note that in order to salvage all types of wrecks, having just a salvager and the skill Salvaging I will not be enough. Wrecks of T2 ships are an example, you will need at least Salvaging III else you will receive a notification telling you it is too difficult. It is the same with some special types of NPCs such as overseers or officers. Sleepers are also more difficult to salvage than more classic NPC rats.

The Salvager II is an enhanced, Tech 2 version of the Salvager. While it requires Salvaging level V, it provides an extended salvage range (6,000m for the T2 versus 5,000m for the T1 version) and an overall 10% bonus to salvage chance versus its T1 counterpart.
