Running a checksumHow do I check SHA1 and MD5?To check the integrity of the EVE client to see if it's corrupt before installing you can use the following methods. This will come in handy when downloading large files like the Premium client. WindowsDownload the fciv program from Microsoft ( 116Kb in size ) found here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841290 Execute the file after it's been downloaded and extract it to the same folder as you saved the EVE client install file. ( two files are exctracted, a README.TXT file and the fciv.exe file )
fciv -v -add EVE_premium_Setup.exe -sha1 The program will check the file to see if the SHA1 key is the same as the one on the download page If it is you have an uncorrupt download and can start installing the client. MacintoshThe MD5 checker is built into the Macintosh systems so there's nothing you need to download, unless it hasn't been installed. To check the file type md5sum "name of EVE Client installer file" in console where the EVE Installer is located on your harddrive. Top Contributors For This Page |
