Phoenix Consortium (Player corporation)
OverviewPhoenix Consortium is a corporation that focuses on the two main parts to eve, PvP and Industry, our corporation takes part in PvP and fleet operations in the Vale of the Silent region of null sec space fighting pirates and red fleets. We have 3 directors who currently run the industrial/logistics side of our corporation, they organise mining operations, ships production and POS maintenance.
HistoryAfter many months of discussions between Anaise d'Flaumond, Francis Imsalsa and Maverick703, it was decided that we would create a new corporation with the goal of making its way to 0.0 space. So on the 10th of June, 2009, Phoenix Consortium was founded and based ourselves in Caldari high sector space. We had been in talks with a number of CEO's about forming an alliance to eventually head out to null sector space. Many of the corporations we were in talks with where based in The Citadel region, with this in mind we setup our corporation Head Quarters at Kulelen VI - Perkone Factory. Negotiations concerning the creation of a new alliance were finalised and on the 11th June, 2009, Storm Legions was established with 4 founding corporations, Procellum Immortalis, XIII Interstellar Legion, Storm Warriors and Phoenix Consortium. The alliance grew in numbers and our industrial operations went from high sector space to low sector space, while the alliance PvP training fleets started to find its feet in and around null sector space. Storm Legions quickly got into talks with some main 0.0 alliances about acquiring a 0.0 home, initially the talks went well but soon details started to emerge that would make a quick move to 0.0 impossible. Unfortunately after a bright start the alliance ground to a halt when the alliance leader had to resign, we were not in the position to run an alliance, so we started to look for a new alliance and a new home, it was decided we should return to the area of space we as joint founders knew best, Providence was our new target. As a corporation we decided to fly solo for a few weeks before moving to Providence, we hoped this would allow our members to make enough ISK to fund a move to the Providence region, part of the plan was to deploy a high sector POS which we would use to increase corporation funds. Our first POS was eventually launched in Kulelen and we immediately started to put it into action, however the honeymoon period did not last long, a small corporation by the name of The Demigods declared war on us. Now, The Demigods were small by comparison, but had enough experience to pick the right corporation to declare war on and to choose the right time to commence the POS attack. We knew the POS attack was imminent so to save us some much needed ISK we removed all the valuable POS structures and moved them to a safe location until the battle was over. At the time of the attack we lacked the PvP experience and active pilots to defend the POS ourselves, so we enlisted 2 loyal friends to help us in the defence, these pilots come by the names Immobile and Demetrius Gorbachuv, we had been in a corporation together about 18 months earlier called Dynasty Corporation and had remained in contact ever since. Also during the attack a local mercenary corporation came by to help repair the POS defensive guns, we didn’t know this corporation but were grateful for their help. Unfortunately our defensive attempts were futile against a much more organised corporation like The Demigods, when we knew the fate of the POS was sealed, we rejected the offers of assistance from some of the old Storm Legions corporations to avoid un necessary losses. Once the POS was no more the threat from The Demigods subsided, we had lost a Caldari Control Tower, but we had managed to rescue the expensive POS structures surrounding it, we took this blow on the chin and continued to make our move to Providence a reality. After the war declaration on our corporation we were able to join a Providence Holder Alliance named Aegis Militia who controlled the Q-6LG1 constellation. Aegis Militia are less well known than the other CVA Holder Alliances and the reasons for this became apparent in our first few weeks in the alliance. At the time we joined Aegis Militia many corps were disillusioned with the future goals of the alliance and this manifested itself in low participation in PvP and industrial fleets and also a lot of CEO infighting. After many efforts to rectify the situation a new alliance executor was nominated and things started to look up for Aegis Militia. During this difficult time our corporation had still managed to grow in numbers and expand in experience. We had many very good members join the corporation, but two of these members stood out, WisdomPanda and Leo Josemi. These two members became the first two additions to the executive board and took positions as directors, WisdomPanda would be in charge of Mining and Leo Josemi in charge of POS Operations. While in Aegis Militia we tried to help the new governance change the alliance for the better, but many corporations started to leave, which left the alliance in a fragile state. As a corporation we vowed to give Aegis Militia more time to get sorted, to help this we promoted a new member called Renarri to help run our industrial section, we hoped that we may be able to produce cheaper vessels for the alliance, but it was not to be. A new leadership structure was introduced with two Senior Directors, Francis Imsalsa and Anaise d'Flaumond, and four Directors, Maverick703, WisdomPanda, Leo Josemi and Renarri. Again, even with the stagnation of the alliance we as a corporation continued to grow steadily, we hit 35 members and had placed many POSes in the Q-6LG1 constellation. It was with a heavy heart that we decided to leave Aegis Militia and on 15th October, 2009, we became an independent corporation once again. Before we left Aegis Militia we already had our eyes set on an up and coming Providence alliance, we had flown with them on many occasions and had heard nothing but good things about them. After talks with Lupus Aurelius for the previous 4 weeks, we eventually issued our formal application to Fidelas Constans, on the 16th October, 2009, we were accepted into Fidelas Constans, we moved the majority of our assets and membership from Aegis Militia space to the 9UY4-H system, from here we based the corporation and started to mould ourselves into our new alliance. Not long after our acceptance CVA introduced 3 new Providence holder alliances, one of which was Fidelas Constans, FCON was given the responsibility of the 9-FOB2 system. The whole alliance worked together to get the system indexes up and also produce a new station, FCON was the first of the three newly introduced holders to drop a station. 9-FOB2 soon became a trading hub for not just FCON but all of Providence, regularly out populating the main Providence hub system of 9UY4-H. Unfortunately this achievement would be short lived. CVA as the main Providence alliance had the right to dictate to all other holders, this became more than apparent when they authorised an attack Against All Authorities. The objective of this operation was to purge Against All Authorities and its ally Ushra’Khan from the Catch region. As a corp we didn’t really want to get into a war with AAA, we thought that AAA could withstand anything CVA and holders could throw at them, however as we were now part of FCON who had recently signed the holders agreement, we were obliged to fight for the CVA cause. The initial assault went well and for a brief few days LFA, another holder alliance, gained 4 of the out lying AAA system near D-GTMI. Needless to say AAA brought the fight straight back to the holder alliances and took Paxton Federations home system of D-GTMI, a huge capital fight ensued, with AAA and allies coming out victorious. The D-G fight was credited with being one of EVE’s largest ever battles. After this massive loss a lot of the Providence residents had lost any will to fight on, most people in Providence didn’t want to fight this battle and were under the impression that one mans view was forcing thousands of people to lose a region they had helped build just as much as the CVA leader had. AAA and allies offered CVA a peace deal but this was rejected on role play grounds. Many residents, corps and alliance had started to leave as the AAA wagon along with other Southern Coalition alliances ground on eating up other Providence systems at will. After the huge Capital ship losses in D-GTMI we couldn’t compete with AAA and allies, CVA wanted to “bore” the reds out by not fighting and hoping they would go away, the CVA leader Aralis seemed to miss the common sense approach that not fighting would just allow AAA and friends to take as many systems as they wanted. As a corp we wanted to get out of the fight as we were not willing to put up with the ridiculous leadership that had been shown, FCON wanted to fight on, we parted way with FCON and looked for a new home, surprisingly FCON would be soon to follow our path to a greener future. Soon after leaving Providence, the region fell with Against All Authorities and Ushra’Khan taking many systems to give out to other smaller alliances. We opened up talks with many alliances but found an alliance named On The Rocks to be the most viable option. We joined On The Rocks on 26th February, 2010. They lived in a small pocket in a region called Vale of the Silent. We based out of POSes for months until the Southern Coalition who had recently demolished the Providence region came to attack the Northern Coalition which we were now part of. The old Band of Brothers alliance, now reformed and calling itself IT alliance would spear head the attack on the Northern Coalition from the system X-7OMU in Pure Blind. The idea was to hit the NC where it would hurt and to bring the Northern Coalition to its knees not by taking sovereignty but by destroying its assets and therefore its capability to fight. Luckily for us Against All Authorities and Atlas who had recently been our opponents in Providence were staging in and around the system of Obe, which was the access to our pocket, we had our chance for revenge. Initially the fights brought many good kills but seemed to take the path of being an immovable object going up against an unstoppable force. The battles were long and tiresome, many lasting around 10 hours or more, but we started to win and stop any attack the Southern Coalition could throw at us. Recently Atlas and Against All Authorities have decided to go back home to regroup. The battles still continue but at a less ferocious pace. On The Rocks have recently used this lull in attacks to drop a new station in A8A-JN, it is a great achievement for such a new alliance and also to do this during the current war is very morale boosting. We hope the bright future will continue and that Vale of the Silent will remain free from attacks for a long time to come! As time moves forward so did The Phoenix Consortium and sadly all good thing must come to an end and the same gos for the Phoenix Consortium. It will be closing its doors whitin the next week. 1 year and 2 months after its birth to its first alliance Strom Legions where we lived for a month before it closed heading into Providence whit Aegis Militia trying to recover the alliance from fallen grace and Fidelas Constans our third alliance where we fought whit honor against the soutern block defeding Providence, Heading to the north to team up whit ICE and defending the north against yet another soutern invasion, We fought whit honor and stayt true to our selfs.
