Overview

The New Eden Trade Union [Ticker: NETU] was created in Late 2009 (YC111), and officially launched in January of 2010, with the goal of introducing a new concept to corporation leadership: the Team Format. Originally intended to be the New Eden Trade Organization, NETU adopted "Union" at the end of its name due to previous claims to the suffix "Organization."

Leadership in NETU is structured similar to the original concept of a fortune 500 company, with its titles sharing the most striking similarity. Employee's are called "Team Members," Supervisors are called "Team Leaders," Managers are called "Corporate Team Leaders" (CTL's) and the Chief Executive Officer remains unchanged as a position. Each department has CTL's, Team Leads, Specialists, and Team Members, each with functions that help build NETU's image.

History

Founding of a New Corporation

The New Eden Trade Union began as a sovereign entity, with its own diplomatic policies, and its own negotiations with other entities. Shortly after its creation, NETU joined Arrogance, and Alliance based out of Caldari Space, south of the Northern Territories in New Eden. After political dissonance with the direction of Arrogance, NETU shareholders voted to move to Amarr Space, initiating a 3 day move of critical assets to Devoid Region.

Apocalypse Now. Era

Weeks after arriving in Devoid, NETU adopted NRDS Rules of Engagement, and thereafter, joined Apocalypse Now. Alliance. NETU has been inconsistently involved in the events in Providence during the earlier months in the year YC112 (2010). During the later months of year YC112 (2010), NETU was removed from Apocalypse Now. due to disagreements with the tyranical executor corporation, Caldari Elite Force. NETU stood up for activity in leadership, fair give-and-take in an alliance, and direction. New Eden Trade Union CEO Ranis Garr called a meeting with the alliance, the first in two months at the time, and APOC leadership shut the meeting down. After announcing the meeting would take place anyways, Apoc Leadership removed NETU from the alliance the night before the meeting was set to take place.

Key Changes from APOC Era

During this time frame NETU learned a couple valuable lessons that would aid in setting up its policies for an alliance down the road.

  • Players cannot be given a "mutable voice"
    • By muting players voices, you tell them they don't matter
  • All member corps must have fair say and equal voice on the matter of alliance direction
  • An established grievance avenue must be installed to deal with issues

Post APOC Era

After bring removed from APOC, NETU began operating out of Northern Devoid low security space, and southern Devoid near Providence. The corporation actively engaged in small skirmishes in Providence, and it against the current establishment of the New Providence Entities.

Shortly thereafter, NETU joined up with old allies, Arrogance, and moved up to Solitude. When Arrogance Leadership left the alliance to pursue 0.0 interests, NETU packed up once again and moved back down to Devoid space, taking up a foothold in its former HQ of Riavayed.
