Network utilities for the Macintosh

How to use the network utilities under Macintosh

Instructions on how to use the network utilities under Macintosh to send us ping results.

How to use the network utility under MacOS X:

Unlike pingplotter you can't save the file for us to use inhouse and see exactly what happens on the way to our server, the network utility is a simple frontend to the normal *nix tools whois, traceroute, ping etc etc.

The Network utility can be found under /Applications/Utilities/NetworkUtility.app

Start it up and go to Traceroute, this is the tool we most rely on to diagnose if there are any problems on the way to our server. In the input window type 87.237.38.200 ( Tranquilities IP ) and press the Trace button. When the trace has completed press File and select Print, there select Save as PDF and save the document to a location you remember.

Attach the file to the petition so we can take a look.
