The Code of the Mercenary is that there is no good or evil. There is no right or wrong. There is only the will of the client.

Genesis

The actual term 'Mercenary Coalition' was first coined sometime around the beginning of BDCI & FRICK's contract against Everlasting Vendetta. Seleene mentioned the term a few times and, having been met with approval, then used it 'officially' in the videos about the contract. Following videos and a large amount of GalNet communications activity cemented the 'MC' moniker as one of the more recognized in EVE.

Historical Milestones

• April 15th, 2004 - Body Count Inc. [BDCI] establishes itself as a mercenary force.

• June / July 2004 - BDCI's contract against Celestial Horizon Corp. [CLS] gains them widespread notoriety.

• Early-August 2004 - Sharks With Frickin' Laser Beams [FRICK] joins with BDCI in a joint contract against Everlasting Vendetta. The 'Mercenary Coalition' is born.

• October 2004 - BDCI & FRICK declare war on Vengeance of the Fallen [VOTF] in defense of CLS. The contract is viewed by the EVE community as the first time mercenaries have been tested against a proven PvP force. Due to their contract performance and the video coverage that followed, the MC emerges from the contract with nothing but praise from CLS and grudging admiration from VOTF.

• November / December 2004 - BDCI accepts a series of contracts against the Fountain Alliance and the Phoenix Alliance that help finalize the end of the Great Northern War.

• Early-December 2004 - A corp FRICK is contracted against joins the Fade Union alliance. A complete orgy of destruction follows that ends with the disbanding of Fade Union within weeks.

• 16 February 2005 - North Star Networks [NSN] and The Corporation [-TC-] announce they are joining the Mercenary Coalition.

• 17 February 2005 - The MC declares war on Force of Evil. The war is extremely violent, with medium and large scale fights occurring daily for nearly a month. FoE pilots are loud in their praise for MC's aggressiveness and willingness to engage. Despite still learning to work together, the MC scores a clear numerical victory by the contract's completion. The video about the contract is still widely considered one of the best of its kind ever made.

• 17 March 2005 - In one of the most humorous reversals in EVE history, mainly due to their performance against FoE pilots, FoE hires the MC to attack the XETIC Federation.

• 28 September 2007 - MC loses a Ragnarok-class titan, 'Armageddon Dawn', in FAT-6P to the combined efforts of Red Alliance and Against all Authorities. To date, this titan is believed to be the shortest lived titan at a mere 30 days.
