Marketing Skill at selling items remotely. Each level increases the range from the seller to the item being sold. Level 1 allows for the sale of items within the same solar system, Level 2 extends that range to systems within 5 jumps, and each subsequent level then doubles it. Level 5 allows for sale of items located anywhere within current region.

It's important to understand a little more detail about how the market works to understand the value of this skill. Sell orders are always station specific, i.e. you sell it at the station where the item is sitting on the dock. Buy orders with ranges represent buyers who are willing to travel a certain distance to pick up the goods that they are buying.

Like other remote skills this skill lets the 'action' happen at another station. The action allowed is a sell order. So if you have goods on your dock in another station within range of your skill you will be able to initate a 'sell order' for those goods as if you were in that station. (Use your assets panel to reveal the goods!) All the normal limits for a sell order apply.

Hint: You can't repackage goods or move items out of containers on that are on your dock from remote locations!

Training this skill to level 5 will NOT get you the best price in a region every time you sell something! If it did everybody would be telling you to train this skill right away! That would break the fundementals behind the economic engine of Eve - Supply & Demand. This skill does not 'move' goods from one station to another for you! The goods must already be at the station you want to sell from. So if you were thinking that you could refine that ore at your home dock and then sell it for the best profit at a station 5 jumps away that has a range of 'station' on their buy order it won't be happening unless you get in your iteron and haul it over to that station 5 jumps away. You move the goods to the station with the best price or settle for the price that others are willing to pay - immediately or over time.

So where does this skill really give return on the investment? This skill is ideal for corporations with several offices, as a trader could sell things out of the corporate hangers in a region without having to fly to each one. This skill is great if you have remote buys dropping to your dock that you want to resell without having to travel. This skill is great for relisting sell orders that expire in a station without having to go back to that station. This skill is great for the player who is a logistics god and knows how to get things moved around in Eve!
