The factory station at Malkalen V is home to the Ishukone Corporation headquarters.
The system is widely known for the Malkalen Incident. In the year YC 110, tensions between Gallente Federation and Caldari State rose to alarming levels. CEO Otro Garuishi of Ishukone initiated a peace summit at his corporation's headquarters to cool down the situation. The Federation sent a delegation, lead by the popular and highly decorated admiral Alexander Noir piloting the Nyx-class mothership "FNS Wandering Saint". Upon arrival at the Ishukone headquarters, Noir rammed the station, killing himself, Gariushi and a total of six hundred thousend people on board of the station and the Wandering Saint. The incident struck everyone by surprise, since Noir was known as advocate of peace between the factions of New Eden.
Tensions between the two factions rose to fatal levels and the incident is the prelude to the occupation of Caldari Prime during the CONCORD lockdown of June 10th, YC 110.
