Schism from the Amarr Empire

Khanid II was a young man who had only recently become the head of his family. He refused to commit suicide following his defeat in the trials, and instead led the a rebellion against the Amarr Empire, splitting his domain from the Empire. Despite the rebellion, he is still sometimes called The Sixth Heir.

Khanid’s reasons for rebelling against the Empire were his fierce ambition and love of life. At the time of the schism, Khanid II was the commander-in-chief of the Amarr Navy and took with him a large portion of the fleet, including a Titan.

Following his revolt against the Empire, he was given a chance to explain himself by the Theology Council. In response, Khanid II sent the Council an inverted Imperial Seal in Khanid Family colors. The Theology Council interpreted this as meaning man's law is more important than God's law, and thus a direct challenge to their own authority. Whatever Khanid's intent, he adopted the symbol as his Royal Seal.

Rule over the Khanid Kingdom

Khanid II is in name the undisputed leader of his realm, but in practice a number of magnates and holders share or dilute this power.

He personally can be counted as more lackadaisical then an normal Amarr. This comes in part from his redefining the position between God and man, something that is even visible in his royal seal. His policy can be described as an attempt to modernize the Khanid economy and society, an attempt many claim to have been very successful - to the point that the Dark Amarr society is far more dynamic and robust than that of the Amarr Empire. Since YC 111 the Khanid Family had been granted a full seat on the Privy Council. Khanid II will officially hold the Privy Council seat but will be allowed to name a proxy when he is unable to attend. One notable point is that the seat on the Privy Council did not bring with it Royal Heir status.

Incidents under Khanid's rule

At one point his brother, Dakos Khanid, attempted to oust Khanid II from power and return to the Empire. Dakos enjoyed support from Heideran VII, but failed and was eventually assassinated on orders from Khanid II.

Khanid II allowed the Order of St. Tetrimon to exist in the Khanid Kingdom for his own political reasons.
