The Hek system is a major hub for the trade, combat, mining, and manufacturing industries in the Metropolis region. Located on the busy highway between Rens and Jita, Hek has a constant stream of capsuleers partaking of its numerous services at all hours of the day. Known to those who frequent the system, the Boundless Creation Station hosts a bustling marketplace and high quality R&D agents putting it's services on par with other Empire hotspots such as Amarr, Dodixie and Rens.

In addition to its market, Hek owes it popularity to a number of important factors. It is the only significant Trade hub that allows Planetary Interaction in system.

Hek, has great communication links, notable neighbouring systems include Nakugard, Otou, and Eystur.

Nakugard hosts a branch of the Republic University providing any skill book a capsuleer might need, it is also the staging area of Ani constellation the Minmatar COSMOS site. Otou provides a plethora of opportunities for combat-related professions and thrill-seekers, and Eystur has a stockade of manufacturing centers and high quality mission agents just waiting to be used.

Whilst Hek is 0.5 security, one jump away is Hror which provides a direct route to an extensive area of low-sec space all within Metropolis region and with few other in-routes. Hek became a trade hub through the efforts of the Anti-Jita movement which selected it because of it is located in the Metropolis region, it's full range of manufacturing & research services, its communication links with two adjacent solar systems in two different regions: Otou is in Sinq Laison and Eystur is in Heimatar thus allowing quick and easy price comparison between those three regions. It is also near Ani constellation which is filled with COSMOS agents.

Hek's industry is well supplied through numerous asteroid belts.

As a system with security of 0.5, you are able to anchor containers here, and at least some of the stargates are littered with various containers, advertising various things.
