The Ghosts of Ragnarok were a small to mid-size PvP corp that operated from May 2007 to July 2009.

The corporation was originally comprised of a group of four capsuleers, as a reformation of a failed 0.0 corporation known as the Arctic Federation.

After some attempts were made into 0.0 life with ARFED, the new CEO of XGORX, Rick Rothsar, made a push to move the corporation to NPC 0.0. The funds for this were raised out of a corporate office in Nakugard and off killing the Angel Cartel forces in the Contested Minmatar Guerilla Base. The funds were raised for the corporate flagship, the Black Rose- a Megathron Navy Issue, as well as the corporation's first starbase- a Minmatar Control Tower Small.

After two months of exploration and pouring over maps of New Eden, the Ghosts located their future home in the DYK-G8 constellation of Great Wildlands. The area was commonly referred to as the LXTC pipe.

The corporation was encouraged to make diplomatic contact by the locals- where FOUNDATI0N held true to NRDS and did not shoot on XGORX expeditionary fleets, and allowed safe travel to and from the Trust Partners station in N-DQ0D, the station that FDN operated out of.

After some time of blue standings, and realizing the challenges and threats coming down on the region from all sides, XGORX submitted its application to FOUNDATI0N July 31, 2007. The application was accepted four days later.

The Ghosts remained a very small outfit, and did not deploy a control tower in 0.0 space for three weeks. However, as the corporation began to interact with its alliance, the realization that guns were needed to secure the homefront sank in, and the Ghosts transformed itself from a largely NPC-focused corp to dedicated PvP and service to FDN's fleet.

As the fighting between FDN and Veritas Immortalis and their GW coalition became more pitched, the Ghosts finally began to do in-game hiring, breaking from tradition until that point. The first in-game hire was pc dude, a capsuleer who was noted by the Ghosts for mounting a valiant, yet unsucessful, rescue attempt of his corporation's control tower, after its directorship had disappeared and left the tower to run out of fuel. With pc dude's hiring, a grouping of new and lower-experience capsuleers nearly tripled the size of the corporation, with only one pilot being around prior to the Revelations expansion.

As FDN capitalized on an ailing Veritas and moved its headquarters to M-MD3B Thukker Mix, the Ghosts' membership hit nearly thirty in size, a milestone vastly greater than any of its leadership hoped to achieve. While small, the presence and efficiency of XGORX pilots on the field made the FCs and leadership of FOUNDATI0N take notice.

However, after some internal alliance friction began to make many of XGORX's pilots uneasy and much less enthusiastic about the NRDS and anti-piracy flag FDN has built itself on, the leadership of the corporation decided to leave Great Wildlands and begin freelance PvP, including piracy, in Everyshore. This issue was the result, ironically, of FDN's success in adopting so many non-combatant corps and pilots, and enjoying great success on a diplomatic front. Atop that, Veritas Immortalis had been dealt a deathblow after one of their last allies in the region, FIX, withdrew from the region.

In Everyshore, the only combat XGORX was able to see was against pirates. Fleet activity almost vanished completely. A plunge in activity coupled with the loss of some of the active pilots among her ranks took a major toll on the corp, cutting its membership in half in a month's time.

With the advent of Faction Warfare, XGORX joined the Minmatar Republic, at least as a temporary solution to looking for combat without the woes of alliance politics and complex standings issues.

After some time, and some success in Faction Warfare commanding fleets in excess of 100 pilots against the Amarr 24th Imperial Crusade, the Ghosts moved back to 0.0 space, launching a small campaign in Curse.

The campaign was initially fought alongside Blackguard Coalition against Koshaku, a corp of roughly 90 strong, in the J7A-UR solarsystem and surrounding area. While the corporation had many kills and skirmishes both against KAZO and roaming alliances like G00DFELLAS and Clown Punchers Syndicate, as well as more stationary foes like Rebellion Alliance, serious issues came up as the remote location of J7A-UR made re-shipping or even getting pilots back after losing capsules very difficult. XGORX lost more membership still, with its total membership falling to roughly twelve from its previous 31-member high.

Late in the campaign, a lower-end clone of Black Rose, the corp's flagship, was destroyed in a patch-day engagement on station. The lack of pilots available to assist in the engagement made leadership acutely aware of the corporation's low pilot count.

The corporation continued to decline, when FDN released footage and press releases on major engagements against Red Alliance in Great Wildlands. Returning to the cause, and returning to even more epic combat, XGORX went back to FDN. The corporation helped lead the counter-insurgency against Band of Brothers' MAX campaign, along with many of the other residents of the Wildlands. By this time, a change had been made in leadership and pc dude was made CEO of the corp.

Due to out-of-game issues, pc dude handed interim command of XGORX back to Rick Rothsar in mid-late December 2009. The corporation then faced some internal issues involving ship losses to other alliancemates, and quickly withdrew from FDN upon pc's return. The corporation withdrew again to Curse, and experienced a spike in membership, coming back to break its old records and hire 35 pilots. XGORX managed campaigns against Rebellion and some other lesser foes inhabiting J7A-UR.

The corporation joined True Reign alliance and began flying under some former FDN leadership, such as TrojanFresh and G0RG0N. They waged war in the Curse/Scalding Pass area.

After some time, tensions in GW became very high between True Reign and FDN, as well as some of FDN's blues, such as Vanguard.

Eventually, True Reign became hostile towards target corps in FDN with the intent of toppling the alliance's leadership, which TRUE's command believed to be corrupt. XGORX followed NRDS rules of engagement during this series of events, siding with what would become the RE-AL and TRUE side of the conflict.

Shortly after Cult of War and Republic Alliance began fighting one another, each side being supported by its blues, XGORX's leadership was faced with fierce disagreements with True Reign regarding reports of intelligence on a neutral target. The Ghosts of Ragnarok instead left True Reign and GW for the last time. The day XGORX left GW, it had hovered at the 50 pilot marker.

The Ghosts of Ragnarok linked with a couple other GW corps as well as a highsec-based corp expressing interest in 0.0 space.

The corporation mobilized to Syndicate, launching a failed offensive into the JQV constellation under its alliance, Black Rose Syndicate. The corp then went to Solitude, where it launched very successful campaigns against all sides of the Solitude Coalition/No Trademark conflict.

In July 5, 2009, BROS was disbanded by its executor, and XGORX was systematically purged of membership by pc dude, who passed command to a placeholding character.

In present day, XGORX is currently inactive. The corp flagship survives in the hands of Rick Rothsar, who has since joined Clown Punchers. It is a showpiece, and does not see active combat. It is still equipped with fittings stripped from Mythral's Nyx-class Mothership as well as parts from other high-profile ships from GW's history. Other relics of XGORX, such as the corp's first hand-built capital ship, have been liquidated.
