Ghost Hunter (Character)
Historical SummaryPre-Nation ExposureThe man who would become known as Ghost Hunter was once considered a model student of the Sukuuvestaa Corporation's Capsuleer training program. Reserved, focused, and above all an exemplar of Caldari etiquette, his instructors firmly believed he would bring great potential to his parent corporation. Upon his graduation from the State War Academy, his handlers were shocked at his sudden and complete withdrawal from the Sukuuvestaa Corporation. His total silence on the matter sparked an internal inquiry into what could have caused an ideal Capsuleer trainee to go rogue. No conclusive information was uncovered and the investigation was put on hold until new developments occurred. Outside of the State's reach, Ghost Hunter went on to devote most of his early years in the Minmatar Republic. He participated in two different early start up corporations known as Enigma Federation, and later Kinetic Vector. These efforts focused on industry and improving the Minmatar Republic, particularly the Molden Heath region, where he immersed himself in Minmatar affairs. It is note worthy that during this time period, he actively participated in situations of distinct anti-Nation behavior. This is in stark contrast to his later work with the Minmatar Republic, in which he greatly avoided confrontation with the Nation. Ghost Hunter's activity took a sharp turn from his conventional behavior when he began participating in criminal endeavors in Empire space. These pirate activities, while minor considering their scope, are believed to have been a turning point in his ethical decision making. These events are believed to what have caused him to separate from his industrial circles and seek employment by the Black Nova Corporation, of the then Band of Brothers Capsuleer Alliance. While the DED cannot declassify the exact nature of what occurred during this time period, Ghost Hunter's activities are well documented.
Awakened Nation LoyaltiesGhost Hunter's tenure in the Black Nova Corporation ended after just two years. It was within months after his leaving that he went on to open the True Slave Foundations corporation. Proclaiming allegiance to Sansha's Nation and Sansha Kuvakei himself, TS-F vowed to return Sansha's dream to the people of New Eden. Initially tagged as a minor Sansha cult organization, the True Slave Foundations' public endeavors suddenly closed and Ghost Hunter himself moved onward to the Naqam corporation, another entity known to be loyal to Sansha's Nation. His activities became more introverted in Naqam than in the True Slave Foundations, and he is believed to have been a minor force in the overall structure of Naqam. Note worthy during this time period were several unusual instances of peacekeeping protests and humanitarian disaster efforts. In particular, Ghost Hunter was sighted supporting Capsuleer Stitcher in his anti-war protests, and sighted again as part of a Naqam relief convoy's escort at the Malkalen Incident. These political activities came to an abrupt end at a sudden plummet of Naqam activity. CONCORD tracked Ghost Hunter as he returned to the Kinetic Vector corporation again for reasons that are not clear. Unfortunately, information is lacking during this time period due to the Seyllin Main Sequence Incident. Universal activity dropped to near zero, and it is presumed he was active for extensive periods in the unknown territories.
IncursionGhost Hunter reemerged on the galactic scene when Sansha's Nation began its wormhole raids upon Empire space in YC 112. Within weeks of establishing contact with the main body of the Nation, the True Slave Foundations was reopened and it began direct efforts to aid the Nation however possible. As part of its mission to halt these unlawful incursions into Empire space, CONCORD tracked the Nation and its loyalist insurgents keenly. Ghost Hunter meticulously worked to spread the word of the Nation's endeavors, and that long-dead Sansha Kuvakei was still alive and well. He was greatly assisted with this effort by other Nation loyalists, and it served to insure their presence was felt to some degree everywhere in Empire space. Despite the malevolence that many Capsuleers directed towards his person, Ghost Hunter was able to remain aloof from their wrath and it served to incense them greatly. It is difficult to discern Ghost Hunter's exact activities during this time due to the state of emergency the Empires are in. His exploits at the systems of Tama and Maut are well documented, alongside dozens of other appearances at Nation incursions. He was also seen to be active in backwater sectors for periods of time, but these are believed to have been diversionary in nature. Following the full scale incursions by the Sansha's Nation across the EVE Cluster, Ghost Hunter's public activities went quiet. While tracking efforts continue, it is not known what motivations or reasoning this withdrawal indicate.
Personal CharacteristicsSlave or Citizen? It is difficult to discern Ghost Hunter's precise relationship with the Nation. It is public knowledge that he suffers from a type of neurological disorder that Ghost himself has admitted to having. No intact medical records have yet to be uncovered that may illuminate the precise nature of the disorder. His own commentary on the matter has shed some light in that the Nation is responsible for saving his life, implying the disorder is normally fatal. The few instances of recovered biomass belonging to Ghost Hunter show extensive cybernetic modification. It stands to reason that these modifications were done by the Nation itself. If such is the case, full True Slave implantation may have occurred at some point during exchange. The presence of the implants alone would validate his status as a True Slave, but his behavior contradicts these implications. Ghost Hunter's actions in the initial three years as an independent Capsuleer had intermittent examples of anti-Nation behavior. In particular, multiple active resistances against Nation operations that resulted in the loss of True Slave vessels. This is atypical for a True Slave, if not an impossibility altogether. Whether or not he is a slave, citizen, or acting of his own free will remains to be seen. His reckless ambition for supporting the Nation's cause exemplifies his fanatical devotion, even to the point of self-endangerment. Threat AssessmentIn due proportion to his fanatical devotion, Ghost Hunter has repeatedly endeavored to share with the EVE cluster the promises of Sansha Kuvakei's dream. This non-committal preaching has taken in place in nearly every public sphere he occupies. He maintains many of the same mannerisms he did as a Sukuuvestaa Corporation trainee. He is meticulously polite and thoughtful of others' in his discussions and business arrangements. This amiable behavior is believed to prove useful in his insurgent goals as it is a positive contrast to the stereotype associated with the Nation. Ghost Hunter is known to fulfill the role of Overseer in a terrorist cult organization that identifies itself as the True Slave Foundations. While the space-based corporate entity bearing the same name would seem to be the cult itself, it is in fact their military arm in space. While our findings cannot be disclosed publicly for security reasons, the DED is confident in its observations of the cult's activities. As a Capsuleer, Ghost Hunter's danger to the civilians of the civilized world cannot be overstressed. He has shown a capacity to increase the abducting capabilities of the Nation, and there is reason to believe he is pursuing alternative means independent of the Nation. His own disregard for the safety of his ships display the totality of his commitment to his goals. It is recommended that if he is recklessly endangering himself, it may be for ulterior reasons that should be considered immediately. Top Contributors For This Page |
