The Generic Patcher

The Generic Patcher was first intoduced in CCP Cascade's Dev blog It is many good qualities as it will automatically update your current EVE client no matter how old it is or install the EVE client from scratch. You are also not required to know which EVE build you have installed since it'll patch any Tranquility client to the latest build.

Where is it

You can download the Generic Patcher from the Patches page, simply select your operating system version ( Windows or OS X ) and press the download link for it as shown in the picture below.

After you've downloaded it simply run the file and point the patcher to your installation folder ( if it's not the default one ) it'll then patch the client for you to the latest version.

If other download methods i.e. the offline installer, found here
have not worked then you can use the Generic Patcher to download and install the client for you. Simply start it up and select the installation folder or have it chose the default one for you.

Note: The Generic patcher does not download compressed files, the download will thus be much larger than the 4.5Gb offline installer. A rough estimate of downloaded data using the Generic Patcher is around 8.5Gb
