A GBC fleet

The Greater BOB Community (GBC) was the name given to the coalition of alliances and corporations lead by Band of Brothers (BOB) and living in the southern and south-western territories claimed by BoB at various times during their existence.

The term Greater BOB Community entered common usage in 2007 as a parody to the propaganda of BOB's enemies that the groups living in its space were pets. The term pet is derogatory, and most often used to describe alliances and corporations operating as subordinates under the direct or indirect control of a larger, more powerful alliance.

The nature of the relationship between BoB and the members of the GBC was diverse. Conditions of membership (e.g. access to BOB's space and payment) was negotiated with BOB diplomats and varied from member to member according to their abilities, and payments took many forms from isk payments, to payments in resources, to services. In adition, the members of the GBC were required to fight alongside BoB in its wars.

The end of the GBC came with the disbanding of BoB in February 2009 and the loss of their home territories, as well as the publication of BoB's internal forums which alienated many of those previously considered their strongest supporters. Under the Kenzoku alliance banner, the former BoB corps attempted to regroup the GBC elements to reclaim Querious, but having made little progress the coalition broke apart.

A number of GBC corps merged with the former BoB membership to form IT Alliance in late 2009.
