LOCKED

Fanfest Overview 2007

This year's Fanfest will be held at the epic Laugardalshöll in the Laugardalur Valley section of Reykjavik, Iceland. A list of Icelandair world destinations and Fanfest packages can be found here.

Fanfest is a celebration of EVE for players from all over the world who love the game enough to travel to an absolutely beautiful, wondrous place to meet others who share their passion. International friendships and rivalries alike have been forged because of EVE Online; this is a chance to meet those who have contributed to your gaming experience in person. In addition, the CCP Devs will be mingling with the crowd, ready to discuss anything about the game you like.

Of course, they will be more inclined to consider your plea to renounce the latest nerf over a glass of Quafe.

Also, for the first time since its inception, this year's event will celebrate the unsung heroes of EVE Online: Significant Others. The Sisters of EVE Program will give your partner a chance to visit Iceland along with you: while you discuss the nuances of the Rokh's PVP setup with fellow corpmates, they can take a day trip to a geothermal spa, shop in the downtown district, or tour the Icelandic countryside. Tickets for this program are priced at a discounted introductory rate for this year only and are in limited supply-act quickly to reserve yours!

Please note: NOTE: Limit one spouse ticket per Fanfest ticket. Spouse tickets are not available individually-they must be purchased with an accompanying Fanfest ticket. Also, spouse tickets only provide access to the Fanfest venue beginning at 1800.

In addition to the Quafe-stocked bars, DJ, and live entertainment throughout, there will be these scheduled events:

  • PVP Tournament. Think of a cage match for capsuleers: your name and ship on a giant screen, battering your opponent into scrap before the rabid cheers of hundreds of fans. The prize: undisputed bragging rights and interstellar fame-plus some very cool EVE Stuff™ to be decided. Think you have what it takes? Then make sure you sign up for the action! Registration begins in September.
  • CCG Tournament. A battle of wits and strategy versus fellow card game enthusiasts in a round-robin contest that draws some of the best collectible card players in the world. Think you can hold your own? Bring your A-game to Reykjavik and find out! Registration begins in September at the CCG website.
  • Presentations. CCP's creative, technical, and production leads give you an up-close-and-personal view of what's being done to make EVE better now, plus a glimpse at the future of EVE.
  • Roundtables. A personal discussion between groups of players and devs covering EVE topics such as content, game design, storyline, and more. Signups will be at the venue on the day of the event.
  • Jita. Are your corpmates planning a strong showing at this year's Fanfest? Then register for your own dedicated meeting area for your corporation or alliance on the venue floor!
  • Silent Auction. It’s your chance to get some cool EVE collectable items and also be helping kids on several continents to have an easier hospital stay.

To complete your pilgrimage to Iceland, the EVE Store will be stocked with phat lewt, including new merchandise not yet available online.

No matter what, you'll return with memories that will last a lifetime. Last year, all six hundred available passes were sold out. This time, we anticipate double the amount of EVE revelers. Don't miss this opportunity for a truly unique experience that you'll never forget!

Please note: Please note that you have to be 18 to enter the Fanfest area.

One of the events leading up to Fanfest 2007 was the Alter Ego contest, where players were asked to compete in who could create the best meld of themselves and their avatars and the results can be seen at Alter Ego Results page.
