The data for the market analysis was generated by users running the Contribtastic upload client, which scrapes the EVE cache files which are written whenever an item is viewed in the market. By accessing this data directly, fake market logs which pollute other market websites are not as much of a problem, as the uploader includes verification hashes and other security mechanisms to hinder fake log uploading, combined with filters on the server to detect such logs. Uploader users would generate a higher amount of data per user due to its ease of use.

API Services

The site also provided APIs for developers working with the market via XML. The data includes market orders, item statistics (including average price, skew, kurtosis, variance and other metrics weighted by quantity and filtered for robustness), and item history data.
