EVE Cache Issue with Microsoft Anti-Spyware

EVE keeps a cache of various items such as email, chatlogs and graphics. The cache and settings folder are kept in the following locations :

• "%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility" on Windows 2000/XP
• "%LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility" on Windows Vista

Simply copy and paste the paths into the explorers address bar or into the field you get by Start-Run or Windows-Key + R (without the " )

Occasionally, Microsoft Anti-Spyware may prevent EVE from writing to the cache folder because it is stored under Program Files. The next version of Windows will also prevent programs from writing to the Program Files folder.

If you experience strange behaviour such as outdated data being displayed or no data at all, delete the content of the cache folder and make sure the folder attribute is not read only. Alternatively, you can reinstall the game to a different location on your hard drive, i.e. not to the Program Files folder.
