Drone bay

Drones are stored in a special hold of a ship called the drone bay.

It's similiar to a cargo hold in that its size is measured in cubic meters, but it can only contain drones.

Only when a drone is located in a drone bay, can it be deployed to space.

There are no Rigs, modules or skills that increase Drone bay size (except some ship skill bonuses like in Worm and Ishtar.
