Lying in the outer reaches of the south, nestled behind its formidable neighbors lies Detorid. Uniquely amongst its compatriots, Detorid is home to what have become termed dead storms, a rarity in EVE yet to be discovered elsewhere. They appear randomly, centered around certain planets and ravage the area for days and then abruptly vanish.

Scientists have had relatively few chances to travel to the region to study this phenomena, marking as it did the edge of the once great Jove Empire and now lying with the Cartels territory. Current theory points to them being tears in the fabric of space, why they exist in the first place or the reason focal point around certain planets remains a mystery and will no doubt do so for some time yet.
