Much maligned for their low relative damage and inability to function in reinforced, cruise batteries are an uncommon sight in starbase defense setups. Despite these problems though their long range and significant bonuses to explosion radius and velocity make them deadly efficient against any interceptors trying to speed tank the guns. Coupled with their extremely low power grid fitting requirements and some bonuses from a Caldari tower inventive starbase managers can make a setup bristling with missiles. This application works best for high security corporations, where automatic defenses can be more important and the ramifications of a reinforced tower less so.
