Corporate History

Foundation in Caslemon

Cosmic Cimmerians (CCIM) was formed on the 26/10/2007. It was originally intended to be a small group of PvPers. That would mainly do bounty hunting and go after known pirate groups.

CCIM started in Gallente space, the region Essence, solar system Caslemon. The main mission area was Osmedan, with a nice low sec system nearby, and few jumps from Syndicate entrance PF-346.

Most of the original members were young players, the average age only a few months old. We roamed in frigates and cruisers. With the low skill point average it was a steep learning curve. We were always outnumbered and seemed the general underdog of the area. Due to our small size we thought it was best to join an alliance. This led to the meeting of Lazyman Inc. Another small corporation that was starting its own alliance. We joined them and formed Elite Trade Group (ETG).

With 2 small Corporations in a young alliance, the hard reality of Eve kicked in. We wanted PvP and got it. The amount of war decs we had was incredible. The alliance lost count of the wars. Alot of other corporations targeted us due to the young age and low numbers. This actually helped harden our members and taught us to fight with our small ships.

Push into Lowsec

The alliance wanted to move to low sec. So Indregulle was chosen. This area, although a bad choice in the end, provided a good learning experience. CCIM setup a POS and lived in it. There were no stations in Indregulle. The area had 2 large PvP groups surrounding us, Invicta on one side and the Athiest Syndicate on the other.

Most of our pilots could only fly Tech 1 ships, so we seemed easy prey for these experienced groups. It taught us how to use hit and run tactics, but it was very difficult for our newer members. The result was that CCIM struggled to grow, and with the continuous wars, it was difficult for the corporation to make any isk at all. Many players left, but the core players stayed, and made us a mentally strong group. We lost many battles, but slowly improved and confidence grew.

It was eventually decided that for CCIM and ETG to grow and recruit members, we needed a quieter and easier place to nurture new recruits. We started looking around for a less populated place to live. After a month we decided to move to Genesis. This was a low populated area in Amarr space. Sharza was chosen as the new base of operations.

CCIM was about to mark it's place in Genesis.

The Move to Genesis

Genesis was found very quiet and boring compared to our last place of residence. CCIM set up in Sharza. The area had a few small pirate gangs and CCIM went to the usual small PvP tactics. We did well and started recruiting again. A POS was setup and we were making isk. We had a lot of young new players but generally they were excited to help. Our roaming gangs were becoming a success and our fleet sizes started to grow.

The alliance started getting more corporations and due to this size increase we started attracting attention from a few larger groups in the area. The main enemy at the time was Chain Of Chaos.

Chain Of Chaos had a large Capital fleet, which they used on our POS network. The alliance didn't even have one capital ship. So we were outgunned as usual. We were forced to stay in small ships and use Guerrilla warfare tactics. The alliance was then hit with a 1 month war dec by Chain Of chaos. We also had Mercenary Groups paid to get rid of us from Genesis. We were war decced by NOIR and REPO at the same time.

This provided a lot of excitement and fun for most players. Although the industrial corps in ETG started leaving. At the end of the war the main corporations in the alliance believed it would be better to all join CCIM and close ETG.

Cosmic Cimmerians now became a full time PVP corporation. We entered the Mercenary arena. We were ready for hire.
