Age LimitDue to Iceland's liquor laws, you must be at least 18 years of age to attend EVE Fanfest. CCP Office ToursThe CCP office is off-limits to visitors and tours are not available. Trespassers will be podded on sight by CONCORD. Climate and WeatherThough the name "Iceland" may conjure mental images of icebergs and glaciers for as far as the eye can see, the climate is much milder than one might imagine. However, the weather can change very quickly so visitors are advised to stay abreast of the local forecast. The Meteorological Institute of Reykjavik provides up-to-the-minute information about the weather on their user-friendly website. CurrencyKróna, the local currency also referred to as "isk," is not commonly available outside Iceland. It is possible to order króna through your local bank or exchange foreign bank notes in any bank in Iceland as well as a 24-hour ATM located in the Keflavik airport. Travelers checks are accepted at all Icelandic banks and many retail stores. Major credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard and Maestro are widely accepted. Here is a list to give you a general idea of what you can expect to pay for commonly purchased items:
LanguageThe native language of Iceland is Icelandic; however, English is widely spoken as well. Many Icelanders also speak Danish, German or French. Local TimeIceland is on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) year-round. Passports and VisasAll visitors to Iceland must have a valid passport. Visas may be required, depending on your country of origin. Visit the ULT website for help in determining whether or not you'll need a visa. PowerElectrical appliances run at 220V, 50 Hz. Some travelers to Iceland may need to bring power converters and plug adapters in order to use their various electronic gadgets and gizmos. Heat producing appliances, such as hair dryers, may require special converters. Consult the staff at your favorite local electronics store for assistance. TransportationThe Flybus is available at the Keflavik Airport, offering a more economical mode of transportation to Reykjavik than a private taxi.
