Ben Raltere (Character)
Pre-Capsuleer HistoryBeing the child of the captain and navigator of a conventional ORE mining vessel, Ben always had his head in the stars, dreaming of the day he would be the captain of his own starship. Growing up, his knack for being able to devise clever engineering solutions, especially with particle shield emitters drew the attention of a Pator Tech recruiter and eventually led to him being inducted into Pator Tech's capsuleer program. Time as a CapsuleerHaving graduated cum laude from Pator Tech with a degree in Caldari starship theory, Ben quickly found work as a hauler for another capsuleer, Havente Gaversom. After roughly a year, the two parted ways, Havente having gone into retirement and Ben going on to test pilot several of the earliest Tengu-class Strategic Cruiser models to roll off the production lines. For roughly a year, Ben piloted Tengus in service of various organizations before news of Nation incursions into empire space drew him into employment with the Synenose Accord. PersonalityBen does his best to keep his cool under most circumstances, having receieved training as a null-sec combat pilot by an independent capsuleer-oriented organization, though is prone to angry outbursts when irritated by others. Fiercely protective of anyone he considers friends, family, or crew, Ben is willing to go above and beyond what most people would consider to protect those he cares about. Of NoteDespite his protests to the contrary, Ben is an accomplished engineer and in his spare time can often be found devising new applications for the Tengu and other ships, though few of his designs see the light of day, either being to expensive to justify their construction or completely impractical compared to contemporary designs. A design of particular notability is the SRC-1, a Tengu configuration whose shielding systems are only matched by that of carriers, no mean feat for such a small vessel. The SRC-1 design has been phased out in favour of the more practical SRC-2 design, whose cheaper price-tag, heavier firepower and more powerful engines have rendered the SRC-1 an unnecessary extravagance. Personal NoteWhelp, there goes the SRC-2. For now until I come up with a better idea of what I'm gonna do, I'll be working out of the Umbral Ultimatum. Design details, for the moment, are classified. -Ben Top Contributors For This Page |
