Astrid Stjerna Underking was born to Taryn and Ivar Stjerna on the steppes of Mikramurka on Matar. She is fiercely loyal to Teraa Matar and its ideals, but sometimes suffers from depression as a result of her long enslavement and the necessity of warfare in her life.

Taken as a slave at an early age, Astrid grew up largely separated from her heritage and her people; the fourteen years she spent in the Empire shaped her future and kindled a deep anger that would persist for several years after her escape from slavery.

After spending nearly two years travelling New Eden, Astrid joined Teraa Matar at the invitation of Kalaratiri Saskia and quickly found the home and family she had once been denied.

Soon after joining Teraa Matar, Astrid became engaged to Conventia Underking, an Amarrian exile and expatriate that joined Teraa Matar for personal reasons. The couple were married in mid-January, 114.

As of late April, 114, Astrid has gone on sabbatical from Teraa Matar to spend more time with her family.
