How do I manage my account and what does subscription cost?

Payment for EVE subscriptions can be made using normal credit cards, debit cards, time codes, time card codes and Direct Debit in selected countries.

Prices are listed in Euros and US dollars. You can use the services of Yahoo Finance to convert the US dollar/Euros to your local currency.

Please note that once you choose a subscription method and interval, and finish registering your account, you will subsequently be automatically charged unless you manually cancel your subscription. You may do so at any time by logging onto the "account management" site on EVE Online, and there use the "cancel subscription" option. Your account will stay open until the end of the current billing cycle. Note also that it may take a little while for the credit card company to process your payment. If there is a time difference between your country and Iceland you may be billed a few hours before you expected, as billing is done according to the Icelandic date. If you want to cancel your subscription we urge you to do so at least 24 hours before your subscription period is scheduled for renewal.

The European Union E-commerce Directive 2002/38/EC, Regulation 792/2002, applies to some of our European players. It stipulates that all EU residents must pay a Value Added Tax (VAT) on electronically supplied services including online games. We are thus obligated to add a VAT on all payment transactions for customers living within the EU. In view of this, the pricing structure for Europe is:

Game Time Cards

These are pre-paid game time scratch cards. Your payment type will change as soon as you enter a valid card number.

Changing billing method and period

To do this, you have to log onto the "Account management" section of our website and click on the "subscription details" link. You will be taken to a page where your subscription details are outlined. A link to change your payment method is available through this page. Click it and you will be taken to a page where you can change the subscription type. Select the new type and follow the directions to complete the new payment.

If you are switching to Game Time Cards from other payment methods, make sure your subscription period has expired before activating the Game Time Card. It will take effect immediately, regardless of the remaining time of your previous subscription.

Why am I not able to pay for my account, I keep on getting errors on the account management website?!

If you are getting errors when trying to register your credit card on our website then please try updating your personal information to make it as accurate as possible. Please make sure that there are no brackets, pluses or minuses and dots or commas in your name, address or telephone number.

When you have done this, try registering the payment again. If you still receive errors, contact us through the petition system and send us a detailed description of the problem and the error message you are receiving.

Purchasing EVE Online Through Steam

What is Steam and how does it work in relations to EVE?

Steam is a gaming network that offers an alternative way to purchase new EVE Online accounts. At the Steam website, you can get an EVE Online account along with 21 days of free trial.

What you need to do to activate your EVE account through Steam is to open your Steam client, right click on EVE under "My Games" and select "properties". You will see a option there to visit the EVE Online Account website. Select the option and you will be directed to a section of our website to start your sign up process.

Steam only offers the initial purchase of EVE accounts at the moment, not the subscription payments which follow if you want to keep on playing after the initial 30 day subscription period.
