Against a background of Red Alliance attacks on starbases belonging to the loosely Minmatar-Thukker aligned Foundation alliance, a large battle took place around a Foundation starbase anchored in M-MD3B on 110.09.27. Foundation forces were assisted by contingents from the Dirt Nap Associates, Electus Matari and Free Trade Coalition alliances, while Red Alliance allies Rebellion Alliance and Terrorist Group were present in force. Foundation and allied forces took heavy losses of approximately 315 vessels lost, while the Red Alliance force suffered 160 losses. However, a number of capital ships were lost in the engagement, 13 carriers and 9 dreadnoughts were lost by Foundation and allies, while 11 carriers and 17 dreadnoughts were lost by the Red Alliance-led forces. The heavier losses in capitals and failure to destroy the starbase in question made this an overall loss for Red Alliance.
