ACT YC110 October:Sovereignty Change, Major Capital Battles with Titan and Motherships Destroyed in E-OGL4

Having been rebuffed in E-OGL4 system earlier in the month, BOB forces launched a major attack on 110.10.22 having successfully contested sovereignty in the days running up to their assault. Able to field capitals directly into the system, BOB deployed a Ragnarok-class titan and a considerable contingent of carriers and dreadnoughts. Defending forces Morsus Mihi and their Majesta Empire and RAZOR Alliance allies also deployed significant capital assets. Despite the presence of much capital tonnage on the field, both sides appear to have acted cautiously with their capital fleets and only one carrier loss was inflicted, a Band of Brothers Chimera-class apparently succumbing to concentrated dreadnought fire. Despite the presence of the Ragnarok, the attacking forces took heavy losses of over 280 ships and capsules destroyed, while the defending coalition took losses of approximately 175. Neither side appears to have been able to come to grips with one another's starbases which would seem to have favoured the BOB/GBC strategy. Their majority in contesting starbases secured them sovereignty on 110.10.25. All sides redoubled their efforts in the following days with major capital ship battles taking place across 110.10.26 and 110.10.27. On 110.10.26, the Northern Coalitions forces were able to destroy an Avatar-class titan and Aeon-class mothership registered to BOB, achieving a major morale and propaganda coup. In successive battles on 110.10.27, a total of 63 capitals were destroyed, 1 carrier and 31 dreadnoughts were lost by the defending forces, while 4 carriers, 26 dreadnoughts and another BOB-registered Aeon-class mothership were lost by the attackers. These heavy losses in capital ships on both sides underline the determination with which the system was being fought over. Another 57 capital ships were to be destroyed the next day as another ferocious battle erupted. By 110.10.28, both sides had bolstered their forces with numerous allies. Increasing numbers of Axiom Empire, Executive Outcomes, Southern Cross Alliance and other allied forces arrived to aid the BOB efforts to maintain their hold on the system. For their part, Morsus Mihi benefited from allied forces from Pandemic Legion and others aligned against BOB, as well as their core allies of Majesta and RAZOR. When the respective capital forces grappled with one another it soon became clear that the BOB and allied forces had miscalculated as 10 carriers and 32 dreadnoughts were destroyed by the Morsus Mihi coalition forces, who in their turn lost only 15 dreadnoughts and no carriers. With much damage done on all sides, the Morsus Mihi fightback in E-OGL4 now switched to contesting sovereignty through starbases having demonstrated their ability to blunt the edge of BOB/GBC capital fleets in open combat.
