ACT YC110 November:Intensive Capital Warfare and Mothership Loss in E-OGL4

With a starbase having been reinforced in fighting two days earlier, battle was joined once more in the hotly-contested Promethium-mining system of E-OGL4 on 110.11.15. Intense fighting claiming 97 capital ships, including a Wyvern-class mothership registered to BOB. In terms of overall capital losses, even setting aside the mothership loss, the BOB/GBC forces suffered a heavy toll of casualties with 12 carriers and 47 dreadnoughts lost. In their turn, the Northern Coalition forces lost 37 dreadnoughts and no carriers. However, a Morsus Mihi starbase was destroyed in the course of the battle. Significantly, from a total of over 780 ships and capsules destroyed in the system, approximately 510 were lost by the BOB/GBC assault force and allies, while only 235 were lost by Morus Mihi and its Northern Coalition allies. The remainder of losses in system are accounted to a variety of non-alliance ships that it is difficult to assign allegiance to and many of which may have been traffic destroyed incidentally. The defence of E-OGL4 can be accounted an emphatic success for the Northern Coalition and the system was not seriously threatened again during the remainder of the year.
