With AAA prosecuting a war against Interstellar Alcohol Conglomerate (IAC) in Catch, 36N-HZ's strategic importance was dictated by the presence of a rare Dysprosium-bearing moon and two Hafnium-bearing moons. As Dysprosium and Hafnium are the two ingredients in the valuable advanced material known as Ferrofluid, the value of controlling the system is obvious. An IAC Dysprosium-mining facility had been destroyed during the AAA takeover of the system.
The battleship engagement on 110.06.18 is believed to have been the largest battle in a number of skirmishes around this system, involving IAC and their allies Sylph against a AAA fleet. Of note is the deployment of a AAA Erebus-class titan that is confirmed as destroying 84 ships, of which 51 were battleships. Ultimately, AAA maintained its control of this valuable system and extended its reach in the Catch region.
