ACT YC110 July:Major Battleship and Capital Engagements in C9N-CC

Despite the successful defence by the Stain Empire and C0VEN alliances on 110.07.15, it appears that GoonSwarm and allies were not content to allow SE to remain in control of the key system of C9N-CC. A massive battle ensued on 110.07.20 with combined losses across all sides of 470 ships and 123 capsules. Despite this considerable tally, only 4 capitals were lost, all from the defending forces. DED analysts estimate that the defenders, including C0VEN, Stain Empire and Systematic-Chaos, suffered combined ship and capsule losses of 256. The attacking forces of GoonSwarm, TCF and United Legion are estimated to have incurred combined losses of 326, additional losses accounted to minor entities making up the balance. With both sides suffering massive losses, the 110.07.20 battle appears to have been indecisive and was followed by a capital engagement around a GoonSwarm starbase on 110.07.22. On this occasion, GoonSwarm forces lost 6 dreadnoughts while destroying 4 Stain Empire dreadnoughts in return. Again this attack and subsequent efforts appeared indecisive with much propaganda issued suggesting these battles were defeats for the GoonSwarm and allied forces. However, while these tactical engagements were on paper defeats for the attacking forces, the strategic aim of wearing down the defenders and establishing sovereignty contesting starbases would seem to have been achieved. On 110.07.27, sovereignty was gained by GoonSwarm, control of the conquerable station followed a day later and sovereignty level 3 secured on 110.08.25.
